I know this thread is a long time dead, but I was still wondering ...

PCPP Came out with a review this month of WoW, and it stated in the sidelines that there was still around 300+ hours of single player time. What's the deal?

Let's say theoretically a "friend" downloaded some cracked ISO's for WoW, or was in the process of doing so. Would said "friend" need to actually buy WoW to get a key to be able to access those 300+ hours, or is it possible to just play them without an account?

Or is PCPP just bullshitting again, and the 300+ hours of "single player time" is actually inside the MMORPG when you're a loner?

I'd say that's referring to being a loner. There's no single play component of the game, short of playing on your own on a server. The cracked ISOs your "friend" is downloading will avoid the cd-check, but they will still need a working account in order to play.

That said, there are sandboxes (Which essentially allow you to run your own private server to play in on your own) and server emulation projects underway, which aim to be able to allow private free servers. Progress at this stage has been limited, and they're not strictly legal either; though neither are your "friend's" cracked isos. All in all, at this stage it's looking a bit pointless unless you intend on paying :)

There is no single player , if someone did happen to download a crack version of it , it would be impossible to play online unless if you some how obtain a CD key with out buying it. Also im not sure if there are any crack servers that are able to main tain WOW , blizzard isnt really coping with it yet.

Anyway i just got to level 40 and its boring after that , levelling takes ages and paying 20 a month just isnt worth it anymore.
