I'm just saying what a few people have said who have had experience marking the HSC. It is highly probable that they won't do it, in fact, it thought it was impossible to do that...but i dunno, now i'm confused...it's not fair to do that.

Well I pray they won't cos I'll be sitting there, thinking the whole of my HSC is stuffed.

Here's some questions:

You have been invited to submit a short story to the Sunday newspaper magazine called 'Journeys'. Use one of the phrases below as a starting point for your story.

a) The good thing about dirt roads is the way they change (wtf?)
b) A path on which to travel
c) enter into a world which is completely different from your own (woah, talk about being broad)

I wouldn't get worked up about it though, just letting you guys know what I've been told. Don't stress! I only know Journeys over Land and Sea.

What I'm about to write is about Section 3 the Journey essay.

I just wrote one, my hand hurts and it took me 50 minutes. Is that too much? Don't they recommend like 40 minutes?
As I did in the Trials, I left the creative writing part LAST so my mind can wander freely and I wouldn't have to worry abour Section 3.
Is 50 minutes too much? (without planning)

Don't forget that at the moment, you're not under pressure. It is probable that when you do the exam, you'll do it in 40 minutes because you are under pressure.

You should be all right then. I always have too much to write about so I end up doing it in 60 minutes in the exam :(

In the exam, I might write faster, but I probably will forget half my quotes!

It's a two-edged knife.;)

But with all that said, 50 minutes isn't THAT much....is it?...

You have about 40 minutes in the exam, I think? (Their suggestion; you probably have more because you've done the first sections very quickly:)

An average breakdown of this 40-50 minutes:

5mins planning
30-40 minutes writing
5-10 minutes checking / proofreading

LOL :) I never have time to proofread.

Umm..I usually finish the first sections quickly. I probably would take 30 minutes on that.
Which leaves me a bit more time.

Planning is a pain in the bum. You should be mentally planning it as you do other questions.

Yes. Use the time you take doing section 1 thinking about how you'll answer the other two sections. Section 1 is straightforward anyway, and the questions don't vary too much, from what I've seen.
