I'm new to this whole Thesis concept.

Can anyone explain what a thesis is and what you would write in it.

A thesis in high school English is usually a simple definition of the topic area you're studying. It's nothing more than a sentence or two in your introduction that defines for example, what an inner journey is.

During your discussion of your texts in the main body of the essay, you should try to relate back to the thesis to help you back up your statement. You might also reiterate the thesis in the conclusion for emphasis.

^......how unfairly condescending.

nathambalam: thesis is your argument in relation to the question. eg. say the question is 'the sky is blue. discuss' your thesis could be 'there is no doubt that the sky is blue, however one must also account for times of rain/storms when the clear sky is clouded with clouds" or whatever else you choose to be arguing.

its the line of thought that you set up in the introcution and which you then prove/go back to throughout the essay.
