Hey guys.

Just wondering why I cant open my MSN chat logs anymore?

The xml file first opens with notepad and is lots of text, then when I select open with IE, it looks nothing like it used to.

Whats up? anyone?

cheers!

Try opening them directly from msn, ie, right-click on users name then click "view message history"

You SHOULD be able to view the xml in a formated way, so there's a problem there, but this will allow you to look at our archived sex-chat logs in the mean time.

Do you have the "MessageLog.xsl" file in the same dirrectory? Without the xsl stuff it would just display the page as the source code wihtout formatting.

I pasted a copy of "MessageLog.xsl"

I opened it again and got.

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<?xml-stylesheet type='text/xsl' href='MessageLog.xsl'?>
<Log FirstSessionID="39" LastSessionID="38" Archive="true"/>

These logs didnt originate on my computer, they were taken from someone else's so?

Shouldn't matter, I've got copies of logs from my old computer and as long as the xml file is in the same directory as that xsl file, they open fine, just with explorer. They do have some formatting issues with firefox, but are still readable.

The only other alternatives I can think of is the tried and tested: restart your computer and try again. Failing that, if you're desperate, you can swap filenames with the log of someone on your msn list then do the "view message history" on their name.

I had a similar problem once when trying to load up MSN XML logs from other people.
