I just visualize the rest of my cohort at school doing better me and that's usually enough to get me off my butt and working
Now... while I kind of agree with this I also hate hearing it.
My sister, a hsc graduate of 2013 told me out - straight..
*Ps. let's just say the hsc was not her strong point but she had feelings too*
..."Everyone cares about themselves and only themselves... it's not my fault the nerds purposely avoid helping us dummies... i'll just drag them down through scaling. it's their choice"

Maybe I'm just too empathetic or maybe I'm overthinking your comment but I know one too many people who live by this idea.
So I motivate myself differently... by imagining a world without stress and English (Heaven!)

Yeah I should go bed now :)
