I'm an Asian (from Bangladesh to be exact) and was hoping to come to Australia to study at the ANU. I've unconditional offers from both the ANU and Manchester University, UK. Before reading this thread, I thought Aussies were very friendly and welcoming, but now I see otherwise. I'll be thinking twice whether to come to Australia now, since I'll be paying A$30K pa for my tuition and living, and living with all you racist people.
When I'll go overseas to study, I'll be staying away from my parents, relatives and friends for over four years. I'll be in a totally alien environment, far away from the familiar sights, sounds and faces. I'll be living all alone. If in that situation I face disgusting racist remarks, I'll be totally devastated. I made a thread on the British version of BoredOfStudies, The Student Room, asking people whether Manchester is racist or not. Almost all the replies were positive and people there were telling me there's nothing to be afraid of, and that the people at Manchester are very welcoming and tolerant. But here, you people are just asking Asians to fuck off!
