lol wat the hell that is so shit why would they not let u use calculators god the hsc is shit i want to kill myself
Nah, well my teacher said we just have to able to show the correct working out for a long calculation. You do not need to get the final answer for the final result. e.g. video processing and audio processing.

**sigh**
graphic/audio/video size and related calculated questions have been dropped from the current syllabus

I would personally do it the way ohexploitable has done it and then round to the nearest whole number.

The most common maths questions that they could ask you in an IPT paper include:

*Bit depth calculations
*File size of an image with certain resolutions
*Audio sample rate
*Video processing
*Animation processing
*Packet transfer calculations with trailers, headers and payloads.

Be careful, complacency is the number one cause for human fallacy.

oh? must have missed it - which dot point discusses calculating graphic/audio/video size
here are the relevant points from the syllabus.

the demands placed on hardware by multimedia systems,

including: primary and secondary storage requirements as a result of:
-bit depth and the representation of colour data
-sampling rates for audio data processing as a result of:
-video data and frame rates
-image processing, including morphing and distorting

-animation processing, including tweening

display devices as a result of: -pixels and resolution

agreed, but you wont be asked to calculate it, like you could have been in the old syllabus
