I'm in the 8am stream for MATH1003 with Andrew Papanicolaou. He's a nice guy, but not too charismatic. Kinda reminds me of Liev Schreiber. He comes prepared and organised for the lectures though and does a good job of going through all the content.

What's been happening with you (I havent spoken to you in ages)?
I'm feeling pretty great at the moment man.

Enjoying my units so far (MBLG calculations may be annoying but the content, despite challenging, is pretty engaging) and most of the lecturers are really good (especially Organic Chemistry ermagherd so much passion). Seeing old friends, meeting new people - you get the picture. Yourself? And it's only been like 1.5 weeksish ahah?

I get the picture :p. I've been pretty good - but I have been pretty busy with things lately. I think I've been riding a wave of positivity for the last week.

Get it before the lab. The copy centre is open from 8 iirc
I already ordered to pick up, but that obvs doesnt guarantee that it will be ready for pick up before 10. Also its only available from coop.

Really need to knuckle down for the thesis now.

Hopefully I can get a draft done in the next couple of weeks.

The fact this is a sentence makes me think yes. Though we have a future Financial Maths (so not Stats, but stats-esqe) in this thread, so you should not pay out their beloved forms of maths.

I did some stats in first year and I have to say that it wasnt very interesting (the only good bit was when we did like a weeks worth of calculus).

Have I told the story yet of how one student managed to alienate the rest of the class in the space of 10 seconds? I'm still in awe.

I really love what I'm studying atm.
No you havent and I demand that you tell us at once (I've missed Suede story times).

What are you studying at the moment by the way?

It was amazing, truly the most incredible moment so far this sem. For one of my subjects we have to work in couples. Yes, the syllabus outline says COUPLES, not pairs, not groups, COUPLES hahahahahahahaha. When we were discussing the syllabus in class, at this point a girl put up her hand and said she didn't want to work with anyone else and could she do it on her own? Lecturer pointed at everyone else and said something like 'What's wrong with them? They look like nice people.' She gave us all a look of absolute disdain and said 'They all look like students.' And you could just feel the rest of the class shift away from her (and I mean seriously, of course we're students, that's why we're at uni, duh). 2 hours later, lecturer asks if anyone has any questions and same girl puts up her hand again and reiterates that she really doesn't want to go groupwork. Lecturer says something along the lines of 'If you had come to me in private and raised this, we could've worked something out, but because you've gone about it like this, I'm going to make you work with someone else' and you can almost see the rest of the class shake their head. Not a good move there.
Talk about brazen - I mean, I get why people would rather work alone, but to say it infront of everyone (who did she get grouped with). What subject is this for?

Anyone know what happened at Fisher yesterday? I didn't stay much longer after I was evacuated, but there were fire trucks and everything so it looked pretty serious.

Outside the union shop on Level 2 of the Jane Foss Russell Building.

Is this for PHYS1500? Night viewing right next to the city sounds a bit lame :/
