UPDATE 06/05/15

Hey guys, today has not been a good day at all, in any way whatsoever. I got my Mod A mark which was 16/20 which i was a bit disappointed about because i was really hoping a 17 but oh well what to do, as long as I have possibly moved my rank up. Sorry to say that today will have nothing as I have been going health issues that I had to spend most of my day at the doctors and I might take a day or two off to process it all.

I know its HSC and I should be studying but hearing bad news is just very demotivating, hopefully I can recover from that soon.
dw we all have those days..

right before my trials I went to through a stage where I was in bed for 1 week with no study..

UPDATE 11/05/15

Guess who's back? Back again! Shady's back, tell a friend. Hola amigos, it has been waaaaayy too long so I have decided to make my comeback. This few days have had their ups and downs and I have been doing work (promise) but just haven't been in the mood to reply to people or just communicate generally. As I said, the down was travelling to a suburb and trying to get home in which I had to take a two trains, which I obviously being tired stuffed up and caught the train BACK TO THE SAME SUBURB I WAS LEAVING TO GET HOME, UGH.

Work wise,

What I got done today
  • 4 complete exercises of Trigonometric Functions
  • 10 pages of Biology Worksheets
  • Biology Report on Microbes in Food and Water
  • Biology and Economics Notes

SO GUESS WHAT, NO SECTION OF WHAT I DIDNT DO BECAUSE I DID IT ALL YOU GUYS! Things may be looking up, lets hope it stays that way. Shall become regular with posting again!

It's 10% luck,
20% skill,
15% concentrated power of will,
5% pleasure,
50% pain,
And an 100% reason to remember the name.

I'll show myself out

That is the biggest load of bullshit I've seen.

Don't believe what your teachers say - it's a total lie, you know your strengths and weaknesses personally and they don't (well maybe they do but not in your perspective lol). If you wanted to spend time on all subjects, then that would equate to 6-8 hrs a day which is ridiculous.

For me, I do maffs everyday (obviously haha), revise my eco notes consistently + do a few practice essays if I find the time, and chem every second day. For english, it's pretty much refining your generic essays and practicing the adapting of your intros and topic sentences; doesn't take that long tbh. As for my other subs, modern I just rote learn my notes and wing the exam through sustaining a strong personal voice in my essay. Bio is just regurgitating the content so I essentially cram that a week or two before the exam (there's so much content holycrapballs).

What I found was that you can leave the content based subjects that relied on memory till later on, whereas subjects that required consistency for the concepts to be embedded inside your brain had to be done way in advance. Even for english, you need to develop an astute grasp of the texts - you can't really cram quotes (unless you're a genius at writing). I don't even do the h/w allocated (cept maffs ofc) unless it was important (which most of the time wasn't the case).

tl;dr it's your HSC, you will find that some things need to be prioritised in order to boost your assessments or study. Frankly, the determinant to one's ATAR result isn't necessarily the teachers - it's you as a student. Trust me when I say this: the HSC isn't a matter of intelligence, moreso diligence and playing smart (<-- this is where time management comes into the fore).

Good luck.

UPDATE 14/05/15

Hey amigos, how has everyone been? Also I've been noticing the increased number of other 2015ers on my thread! Please feel free to talk about stuff, i barely get time to go on other people's posts and non-school/school threads so i suppose this is how i see everyone's post basically. There was nothing to post yesterday as I had parent teacher interviews, in which everything went pretty well except for my math teacher telling my mum she doesn't know how to shut me up (tbh i think she just has a grudge against me from last year when i would talk a lot). Found out that my current rank for my Mod A Assessment task was 6, which i am so happy about because English is the one thing I've probably improved on a lot other than Math. I ended up with a 50 rank with math last year and a 36 with english (didnt try tbh) compared to 14 and 10 this year, improvement peaking bruh.

What I got done today:
  • Worked on my biology report for microbes
  • Went shopping (need cadetship meeting clothing)
  • Finished some HSC economics practice questions
  • 2 maths trig functions exercises
  • Narrowed down Mod C related to either 2081 short film or Selma/Malcolm X movies (any suggestions for them pls go ahead, I do the People and Politics elective)

So i didn't get much done today, but I shall promise to catch up on the weekend and work my god damn butt off till I do ahah. Goodnight amigos.
