No he wrote arabic using the latin alphabets
imma translate even tho he used wrong wrong grammar
in formal arabic he wrote ‘is it true you can’t speak?’
though if directly translated sounds like this ‘the truth is you don’t speak?’
My grammar is not wrong at all, thats basically what I meant. In Jazira and Aleppo we use more formal Arabic and since some people of our place are mixed with or are Kurdish, we have a slightly different way of speaking. Normally we have a little mix of Kurdish and Kurmanji in our dialect. Im also half Turkish so some of the grammar I use differently is normal, but there is no big difference.

Ok an anecdote
In lebanon u have two choices to choose from when entering skl at the age of three (we have three stages for kindy) anyways, u either do arabic n english w french as a second langauge or arabic n french w english as a second language either way ur learning three langauges

ur second language u get one period a week to study (so rlly unimportant) but arabic n english/french every day

I wish I had the chance like other Syrians to go to Lebanon but other circumstances stopped my family from ever even entering Lebanon. Ive never been. The education system was not the best in Syria at all, and even though I love Syria, I wish I was any place but there. Especially since I mainly lived near Turkish border in north, which is very dangerous.

I was the opposite haha. I was actually curious why you are not taking French Beginners or French Continuers in addition to Arabic Continuers. I suppose your focus on English explains it. :)

Yh even tho i did 6 continuing yrs of french i dont remember anything lol i dont even know what an apple or dog is (like basic stuff)

i can understand it tho, like the other time the french teacher at my skl said ‘yes i do speak french, how about you?’ in french, ithe thing is i understood what she meant but idk what she said DOES THAT MAKES SENSE? 😭

also when i opened the french beginners hsc i was able to understand what the text was about but i wasnt able to read it (ig u can say im illiterate?)

It means "your speaking" and only is used for males. For a female is 'yatakalam'.
yatakalam is for males n its translated as ’he speaks’ like present يَتَكَلَم
tatakalam (depending on pronunciation/meaning) is translated to ‘she speaks) تَتَكَلَم

this is standards/formal arabic in ur case (bc u said u have a different ‘version’ of arabic bc of the kurds) is might be different but it is 100% like that

LOL I LOVE THAT THE CHAT IS RANDOMLY NOW AN ARABIC LESSON SRRY GUYS 😭

Mb that's what I meant. 😭 Our arabic dialect shouldnt be so much different, its not a another version entirely but we have other put ways of saying things. I used to live in Russia so I know Russian more than Arabic, even though Arabic is my first language.
