    Locus questions

Greetings, I have a couple maths questions to ask.. Circle and locus- 1. A(4,2) and B(-2,-8). Find the locus of a point P(x,y) that moves so the angle APB is a right angle. 2. A point P(x,y) moves so that its distance from (3,4) is proportional to its distance from (-1,-2). Find the equation...

It didn't occur to me that I should simplify the gradient first, then sub into the eqn, because what i got was very tedious. Much better now!

    prelim math help

    14. b) Find the equation of the focal chord through Q We are given the information Q(2aq,aq^2) lies on the parabola, and x^2=4ay. What I tried was to find the focal point of the parabola, and use gradient formula using those co-ordinates but I can't seem to solve it. Help please.

    Need prelim math help!

Now I see what I got wrong. I'm embarrassed that I couldn't even see it. I guess that's what you get for staying up until 2.30am tying to solve a simple maths problem. Thanks a lot!

    Need prelim math help!

There was a question in my textbook regarding locus and circles. The question states: Find the exact length of AB where A and B are the centres of the circles x^2-6x+y^2=0 and x^2+4x+y^2+6y-3=0 respectively. From what I assume, Im thinking this is supposed to be about the distance formula, once...
