    MedSci Enrolment Help

    1) This year is really strange. They meant to offer ANAT1521 in S1, but I don't know what happened. And SCIF1111 is meant to be a 6 UOC offered in S2 only(replacing the previous two 3 OUC subjects that I had to do). So as you can see, they have changed it this year so everything is a bit messy...

    Medical Science query

hmm, it doesn't really matter whether it's S1 or S2, the main thing is you get to do Anatomy. Personally I didn't pick it (when it wasn't compulsory because I'm not a big fan of learning all the human organs and muscles. But then again, I would have much prefer that over SCIF1111 anyday - it's...

    Advice plz

I agree. The 1st and 3rd topics sounds much better than the 2nd. Bullying is an important issue but it might be a bit boring for the examiners. Driving is certainly a hot topic at the moment with P-platers being constantly targeted. Has it always been like that - reflecting the concept of...

    Bachelor of Science Majors/Minors

The remaining 6 UOC is your elective. You can pick more units from the Faculty of Science or Arts. You cannot minor in Psychology. You can major in both Physiology and Pyschology. In that case, you should pick PSYC1001 for your remaining 6 UOC.

What??! "If there are enough life forms"? Did you know there are more bacterial cells on your hand than the number of cells in your entire body? And that there are more bacteria in your intestine than the number of people on Earth?

    Bachelor of Science Majors/Minors

No. It's either: 3 yrs Bachelor -> 1.5 yr Masters -> 3-4 yrs PhD OR 4 yrs Bachelor (Hons) -> 3-4 yrs PhD If you do not have Honours, you need to do a Masters prior to a PhD. Unfortunately, this kind of information is not readily available. I can tell you that the median starting...

    Bachelor of Science Majors/Minors

I think B Sc is relevant to your Masters degree. When they say "relevant" it means in similar fields, like medical sciences.. it doesn't mean you have to do exactly radiation medical science in your undergrad. What are irrelevant are Arts, or musics, and stuff like that. Coonsider in majoring...

For CHEM, higher and fundamentals are pretty much the same, except in fundamentals you have 1 hr less of lab work but 1 hr more of lecture.

    Medical Science query

Is it BABS1201 you are having problem with? I think this is because they are changing the course code from BIOS1201 to BABS1201; that's why that are a bit slow with the alteration.

    b-cells and t-cells

Yes. T, B cells and macrophages do work outside of the body. That's how scientists do experiments on these cells. Scientists often extract these cells to do experiments.

    BSci Offer, Yippie. Enrolement??Qs?

Hi Chris. You should have posted in the UNSW forum. I didn't know you had so many questions! But most of them are clarified very well by others. As to ANAT1521 Anatomy for Medical Science (6 UOC), you cannot enrol in it because it is strictly limited to students in the MedSc program. It is...

    Science Enrolment, Subject Questions.

Hmm. I don't know if you can actually enrol in SCIF1110 given that it is limited to BMedSc students. You can try enrolling in it and see if my.unsw lets you. You can choose 6 UOC of elective, anything from Science. Note that MedSc students have to take MATH1041. If you are planning to...
