    Textbook recommendations

I don't have it on me now, but it was one our teachers told us in case we wanted to use it (it was an example)

    Textbook recommendations

Yep, but the thing is they're all quite expensive. We were lucky due to the fact that our school gave us access to 3 or 4 textbooks, some schools don't have the luxury for that and so buying textbooks on your own can get quite expensive (they can be around 60 each I think), which isn't cheap

Pearsons is a pretty good shout ... that's what I used anyway during HSC. Jacaranda, In Focus and Surfing are also pretty good but I didn't use them as much last year as Pearsons, which was the main one our school advised us to use.

UCAT : Medentry or Medify or ICanMed ???? im confusedddd.

Wow, I'm pretty surprised that you hate Medentry that much. I was able to use both Medify and Medentry this year and honestly, I didn't prefer one that much over the other. They were both pretty similar for me, so I can't really say one helped me more than the other. That said, the thing I...

    Maths help

It would help to use Newton's Law of Cooling (which is T = T0 + Ce^-kt); T0 would be -10 (temperature of freezer), then to find C, you sub in t = 0 and T = 14 (initial temperature). Then use t = 25 and T = 11 to find k. Then once you have the whole formula, you should be able to do a) and b)...

    99.95 without extension 2 maths

I'm not sure if you heard of this before, but I remember seeing in the news this one guy (I think from another state) who got a .95 only doing languages (so English, etc). This goes to show it's possible with any combination of subjects, but you gotta bloody work hard and be willing to put in...

need help figuring out an option- post-grad med

Exactly what I was thinking as well. Also considering that you will be working until retirement (maybe as you get closer to retirement, you may want to cut down the hours you work for), that's still 40+ years of working and constantly learning, so taking a few years of that is practically...

    hows HSC like

Considering the way things are going right now, there's a very strong chance (if not definite) the effects of the pandemic will still be present in 2 years time during your HSC. A pandemic of this size doesn't simply go away after only a few years. HSC is definitely a long road which you have to...

    Whats the best University?

As everyone above has mentioned (which I agree with), the university you consider to study a degree won't affect the level of education your receive. Perhaps the only factors you may want to consider would be travel time, uni fees, friends who may be going to a specific uni, etc.

need help figuring out an option- post-grad med

I'm in a similar position to you, where I didn't get into medicine through Year 12, and so am trying again this year as a first year uni student. I'm currently doing a Business degree while also trying to get into med. Personally, I believe this is the better option than doing a so-called 'med...

should i share my essays with my grade?

That's a valid point, and going back to what I said earlier, I just think you shouldn't put yourself in unnecessary risk. While they may not pick up one individual copying an essay from 2 years ago or whatever, but potentially if a big portion of your cohort were to have very similar essays...

should i share my essays with my grade?

It's difficult, because there are some pros and cons of doing it. People who normally share essays can be assumed to be at the top of their grade for English, and usually be able to produce A range essays (18-20). These essays mostly incorporate complex language and ideas which not everyone may...

what techniques are in this text

I'll also add, like the techniques jimmysmith added, note that they aren't very 'fancy' or 'complicated' techniques. I think too many people get stuck up on trying to identify too many fancy techniques, when in reality, the most marks come from your analysis of the techniques and ideas you...

can you chill once you get accepted into a course

I haven't got all the information off the top of my head, but I can attach a copy of the handbook for actuarial with commerce (the degree I'm doing). Obviously, you can search up whatever actuarial degree you want to. It's the most recent link which goes into the degree structure for next year...

can you chill once you get accepted into a course

I'm currently doing Actuarial Studies with Commerce, so I guess you can say the Actuarial component could be categorized as STEM, although there are some subjects in it which wouldn't be STEM (like economics and commerce). It definitely isn't hectic, if you can organize your time well. As we do...
