    atar estimate?

If you go on HSCNinja, you can find the number of Band 6s for your subjects for the last 5 years, I believe. You can use that to see where you are in terms of your cohort and whether a Band 6 is feasible or not

    atar estimate?

It's quite difficult to estimate an ATAR based on ranks alone, just because your ATAR is calculated from your HSC marks (so the average of your examination mark and your assessment mark). What would also help is if you provided the average number of people who get a Band 6 in your subjects (so...

    Question for HSC

Definitely not, as I doubt you would be able to regurgitate definitions word for word without some sort of modification or changes to it. Also, they rarely ask for questions where they just want you to explicitly define a concept without putting it in a wider question. So a more likely question...

    99.95

Especially not performing well in English, as it can significantly drop your ATAR. All the 99.95 students would have guaranteed a Band 6 (can afford to be on the lower side of E4 if their other subjects are exceptional)

How much you guys studying everyday?

Honestly, there's no magical number for hours spent studying. What's more important is the quality and effectiveness of those hours. For example, you'd rather spend 4-5 solid hours working on a past exam (3hrs) and spending 1-2 hours reviewing it and trying the mistakes again then spending maybe...

    inverse help

Is there like a sample question you have as an example? Because it is quite tricky to explain what you're asking without a question to work from. I mean deriving the equation is just switching the x and y terms, then forming the new equation in terms of y = f(x). However, with actually drawing...

Oh, I didn't realise the double sin angle result wasn't in the Advanced syllabus. I just couldn't see another way to go about it without using that.

    biology question

Damn, that takes a lot of effort, especially during your HSC year as well. Do you not feel stressed or overwhelmed having to balance the two? I mean, I found the HSC stressful as it already is, and only picked up tutoring in the January after.

    Self-Made Notes or Pre-Made Notes?

I can't comment on Eco, but I can comment on English. English is very different from the sciences and maths in the fact that there are many different ways to go about it. That makes maths and science better in that sense (for some people), as there is only 1 way to go about it. So everyone's...

    mathsss

As all the possible probabilities summed up add up to 1, that's how you get the constant 1. In terms of the diagram, it's just finding the area under the graph. As it's a triangle, you just go bh/2 (where b = base = 4, h = height = 1/2), then you just sub it in

For part 2, if a = pi / 3, and we know r = 63 / a (from what I circled at the top above), just sub it in and you should get the radius

For the second question, part 1, I've attached the answer (because I can't type it out)

For the first question, a PDF has 2 criteria: f(x) is greater or equal than 0 for all x and that the area under the curve is 1. The first one is quite evident from the graph. The second criteria just requires the area under the triangle, which is 1/2 x 4 x 1/2 = 1, as needed. For piecewise...

    When should i start tutoring

With regards to English private vs 'public' (or group) tutoring, having done both myself over Year 11 and 12, I can definitely say with confidence that the biggest progress I made was when I did private. Keep in mind though that it won't be like that for everyone; as people have their own...

    Atar Estimate

I tried using the HSCNinja ATAR calculator and it came out with a 97.8 with a range of 0.7 each side (so from 97.1 to 98.5). Keep in mind though that it's quite a big range, and will definitely change from year to year.

    Getting into medicine without UCAT

Depends which uni your applying to JMP normally requires around a 93rd percentile, so around 3020 (give or take a few) would be enough WSU does it differently though and 'apparently' uses a formula using your section scores (they do prioritize VR comparably to the other sections; you can find...

another calc q sorry. part iv.

I think the main crux behind part iv) is that they want you to come up with a velocity function, and essentially show that it can't be zero, i.e the particle will never come to rest. So you can do that by calculating dx / dt, which would be 3 - 2e^-2t. Once you have this, it's good to include a...

    how many hours of study

I guess it's because most people want to just 'pass' their course, graduate from uni and start working as soon as possible. Unless you're doing one of the 'top' degrees, then you don't need the really high grades in uni like high school requires

    Getting into medicine without UCAT

Totally agree. I think the problem is that medicine or dentistry can be wrongly portrayed as a 'all for money', 'prestigious' degree by some people (NOT saying all people, but some people can be of this mindset). However, the majority of med/dent students really have a passion for these degrees...

I'm also in a very similar boat to you. I'm a non-standard applicant though (first year uni), so I'm happy to message you about my experience with the application process so far if you want
