    Estimate Raw Mark Band Cutoffs

I mentioned Herodotus and Plutarch throughout my Xerxes and Greek World essays, and referenced the sources a fair bit in my Persia section. I think I killed the exam, so I'm hoping for band 6. 90+% basically equals a 90+ aligned mark, right?

    Estimate Raw Mark Band Cutoffs

Out of 84? Out of 100 you mean?

What questions did you get wrong?

So did I, since they had already asked for the area of the only other 'shaded region' I could see, which was the quadrilateral. Of course I must have got it wrong because I forgot to account for the fact that the two circles overlapped, but come to think of it, you would have needed to do all...

Fights Over Uni courses (with the family)

I hope it all works out for you, in that case. My parents just asked me what I wanted to do, and said that as long as I wanted to do it they didn't mind. The best solution is always an honest one, in the end, so just try and be honest with them, it's your life. If you trick them and they find...

    HSC markers

I agree 100%. Just do your own freaking work and the problem doesn't present itself. I hope you get caught.

    Your Exam Supervisors

Mine are alright, I suppose. They are pretty boring, but they don't mind us writing our student numbers on a million and one pages after the writing time, if we decide it takes too much of our normal exam time. :P

    Module A - Transformations

In terms of elements, I talked about more textual elements in relation to context. My two were the characterisation in both, and the ironic voice, and how both composers use them in markedly different manners, but to the same purpose - to reinforce and retain interest in the values of society.

Section 2 - Who used quote as central idea, who just slotted the quote in somewhere?

Re: Section 2 - Who used quote as central idea, who just slotted the quote in somewhe I did the mosaic quote, I began and ended the story with it. It was about a guy in a Roman prison, who is about to be executed. Throughout the story he is very indignant and it looks as though he is the good...

    UAI REALITY ChEcK!!!!

Well, I started aiming for 95 to get into Macquarie Uni Law/Arts, but I changed my mind, and I'm wanting to do Arts at USyd to major in Ancient History, so that's 83. I think I can get that, since I think I did pretty well in English, and may have scraped a band 5 in Maths. Ancient and Legal...

What questions did you get wrong?

A = 1/2(xy) I am pretty sure. I just realised, looking at the solutions, I think I messed up 4)c) iv and v ... did they mean the sum of all shaded regions as in everything shaded (the circles as well or just OACB)? I'm not sure whether I messed up the acceleration bit of 5 b)ii), but I'm...

What is the Band 6 cut-off

If I was to get a raw mark of mid-high 80s, would that be enough to get me a band 5, I wonder? I mean, even if I got 88/120, that's only 73%, so would that really get aligned that much to get a band 5?

What are you expecting to get as your RAW mark?!

Haha, I think it'll turn out that I'll get mid-high 80s. I am so pissed that I spent so long messing with 8)a) that I didn't get to 8)b), which was an easy 7 marks. D: But I had a look at the solutions, and I probably ended up with 67ish/72 for the first 6 questions. Then I probably would be...

    General Thoughts - Mathematics

Gah, that screwed me up big time, I didn't get that - and I accidentally spent so much time working on that one that I didn't get much for the second part of that. I think I would get 2 or 3 at best for that question. :P I think I nailed the first 5, and 6 and 9 weren't too bad. 7, 8 and 10...

... so we got our assessment rankings today ...

Here are mine: Legal Studies - 1/7 Maths - 1/16 Ancient History - 3/19 History Extension - 1/2 English Advanced - 4/25 English Extension 1 - 2/5 So, I'm looking to get 83+ (specifically because 83 was the cutoff for Arts at USyd last year) but I'd like to get in the 90s, what kind of exam marks...

    Gah, Annotated Bibliography + Synopsis?

Okay, that shouldn't be much of a problem. .... I hope I have time for it along with faking 12 months worth of journal entries ... :P By the way, thanks to people that replied here, massive help. =D

    Gah, Annotated Bibliography + Synopsis?

Oh I see. The only confusing thing is that when I asked the teacher if I had to do any of this kind of thing, he simply said 'Nope, just hand in the essay and your log book', but given both of these sections are in the syllabus, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do them.

    Gah, Annotated Bibliography + Synopsis?

Okay, sweet. Each? From what I've seen here, people only do 3 or 4.

    Gah, Annotated Bibliography + Synopsis?

Oooooh ... crap. My major work is due in around 8 hours, and my teacher said that all I had to hand in was the essay and my log book. I now see people talking about the annotated bibliography and synopsis and think that I'm screwed. I'm doing the course over the internet, so I've emailed my...

raw school assessment marks - 2 questions

    1) I'd say they'd round it out, if you're talking about the school, since they have to submit integers, not decimals, to the board of studies. 2) Extension courses are submitted out of 50.

What music do you listen to whilst studying?

For the most part I listen to Switchfoot, Muse, U2, The Who, Cream ... that kind of stuff. It just makes studying so much easier, oddly enough.
