    The Big Read

1984, George Orwell I didn't actually finish reading this. I wouldn't say it was boring or anything but I was in the middle of HSC trials and it wasn't really the time to start and finish a book, thin as it is. I'll probably try to get back to it these holidays. The Catcher in the Rye...

    Fees?

I think they are meant to say that Student enrolling in Sem 2 will pay the 1/2 yearly rate.

urgh. i hate dean. Im still a GG devotee but i hate these new seasons with rory acting like a superbrat. the only thing i like is lorelai finalllly getting together with luke. im thinking of buying the 1st 3 or 4 seasons on DVD. Once Rory headed to Yale, it all headed downhill :(

    Fees?

here we are http://www.usyd.edu.au/su/studentcentre/sib/compsubs almost 500 bucks upfront for me. Sigh... edit: the email i just got from student centre says that if we enrol in sem 1, we pay all compulsory fees and it's pretty much "tough luck". I don't think we get refunds cos...

    UOS to be confirmed tomorrow!??!?!

i got this email from the student centre saying (amongst other stuff), 1. As foreshadowed in my email of 16 December the pre-enrolment facility will close at 5:00pm tomorrow, 6 January. Up until then you can vary your pre-enrolment unit of study selection as you require; does this mean...

    Leading Edge

well, an "extra something" would be exam technique and tips and tricks i suppose. Perhaps, also a intuitive whole understanding of the course so that you can see how things fit together and how to link them in exam and assessment siutations. I don't really think anything beyond that is...

    Leading Edge

gittens is entertaining enough but i don't think it's necessary to read him. also, you don't need 5 textbooks by 5 different authors. Find one you like and stick to it.

    Leading Edge

i went to a group tuition thingo at the beginning but it was useless so I quit. Other than that, i didnt get tutored. I had trouble finding a decent private eco tutor. if you're struggling, i think a private tutor is the way to go. btw, leading edge is overrated. Their textbook looks...

    Leading Edge

leading edge's resources are often excessively detailed with junk you don't need. My teacher bought notes from all their conference days and other materials and it was fairly useless.

    Fee at enrolment

we're still paying the full amount this year? and they have EFTPOS facilities

    Leading Edge

i havent been to leading edge but i'll judge it as a group tuition scenario and would suggest a good private eco tutor instead. Eco is content loaded and you need someone to go through YOUR weaknesses rather than something to cater for a group of kids.

    No Maths, Science or History

hist ext is just all about historiography. Rather than "storybook style" learning (i.e narrative history), it's about the ways we view history, what it is, what it means, how to intepret it...

    Arts/Commerce???

you sound EXACTLY like me a year ago... i ended up choosing B Commerce (liberal studies). You would need 2 commerce majors. This can be an Economics major and a Government and International Relations major. You also have the option of an arts major (your history). I was warned that my idea...
