    Working in a bar?

It depends how good a barista course and bar course it is.... if it is decent, then it is probably worth the money. If it isn't that good then it maybe isn't necessary. You can get a job in a cafe without any experience.... just ask around, they usually don't advertise for jobs. Take your...

    Working in a bar?

Yeah it's true that most cool nightspots hire chicks based on looks..... however other places like RSLs, suburban pubs, even more upmarket bars in hotels/motels aren't as discriminating about looks, often it's more about presentation, personality or experience. But yeah, most places where...

    Spellbound

Yeah it is.... there is something strangely intriguing and engrossing about the weird geeky kids, the kids who have struggled, the strange pushy parents, and the whole obsession with spelling.... it's quite compelling to watch!

    Spellbound

I watched this excellent DVD tonight called Spellbound. It was a documentary about the National Spelling Bee in the US... it was really really interesting, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes documentary films. It was great. Has anyone else seen it?

It's easy to find casual work (especially in food or retail) as a uni student.

Do Part-time jobs and TAFE/uni mix?

I was working 36 hours a week plus doing full time uni. It's fairly easy to balance part time work and uni, you just have to manage your time, it's not that hard.
