What's UTS like? It's very cool, the people in the humanities faculty are great and you will meet a lot of great people. I do journalism, so I can't tell you much about pub comm or soc inq but there are others on this board that may be able to help.

If every uni specialises, won't it be bad for professions because everyone will be trained at the same place and hence there will be less different thinking about how things are carried out? If that makes any sense. E.g. if all nurses are trained at UTS, they will all be taught the same way...

I totally agree, and I also believe that one of the reasons they are scrapping it is because they can't raise the HECS so it will be unprofitable. And I think it's crap that the people already enrolled won't be affected... as they scale down the program to close it, the current undergrads...
