    Band 6 in Maths

Really? Hmm maybe I just did crappier than I thought. It was just that in our trials which were of a similar difficulty and marked to HSC standards I got 106/120, so I thought I would have gotten something closer to that... It would be interesting if we got to find out the raw marks.

It doesn't create more HECS places... if the unis are making more money, the government will use this as an excuse to give them less...

    Jobs and Salaries

I'll probably be a cadet/junior journalist, and earn about $30000 first year out I think, with that increasing.... average journo salary is about $47000 Or I might decide to work in a media department of a company or something like that... dunno yet

    USyd Scraps Nursing

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/06/08/1086460298951.html What do you guys think about that?? I think its not that great because there isn't anywhere to study nursing in Sydney city (UTS nursing is at Kuringai campus)..... it's yet another effect of turning universities in to big business.

    Band 6 in Maths

Are you sure about that? I reckon I would have gotten somewhere around 100/120 raw in the HSC last year and I only just got band 6 (aligned mark for exam was 91)

is anyone from 1st yr planning on transferring?

I'm not going to do international studies because I would rather just go on exchange for a semester then spend a whole year in one country.

is anyone from 1st yr planning on transferring?

Don't abandon UTS!!! Noooo!! I was going to transfer and double my degree with international studies, but now I'm not going to. I think I will finish my journalism degree, and then decide what I want to do (i.e. postgrad, another degree, get a job) I want to try and finish it a semester...

    The Apprentice

Jessie was hopeless.... she deserved to go. Heidi looks like an ex-prostitute... Tammy is an idiot.... she has such stupid ideas... I think I like Amy and the guy that was joking with the queer eyes the most.

    Conflict In Indochina & Pacific

lol when you leave you will realize how good it was.... you don't get spoonfed at uni, and you are a small fish in a big pond instead of vice versa.

    What to do?

But you can do an IT course for lower at some of the regional universities and then try and transfer back to the city perhaps. All is not lost, the trials and the HSC can erase any screw ups you have made so far.

    Final Exam Timetable Now Available

Yeah Lexi, stop bashing the humanities people.... we aren't that bludgey, and sitting exams won't further our skills for the careers we are going for anyway. We've had on average more than one assignment per week... plus we are expected to start getting stuff published, getting work experience...

    The Individual and Society

If you are talking about Tennyson's The Princess, then yeah I think that would work quite well for I&S. And all of you, stop drooling over Mr Darcy and start working lol..... this is from a girl who watched P&P several times during stuvac to "study" it lol.... P&P very much rocks.

    Calling all university students!

As we were talking about previously, articles on various aspects of uni life would be helpful for HSC students as well as new uni students. The notes sound good.... I think that dividing them up by general subject area is a good idea because even if there are no notes from your specific...
