    Picking Subjects for Dummies?

I'm pretty sure you can only do one major in commerce, and you don't do a major in law. Electives are just random subjects you pick that don't count towards core units or majors. You probably don't get many (or any) in com/law though

    Majors

I'd say do history, as your more interested in it. I wouldn't really call any of them practical, in terms of employment, but as your also doing law and a second major, I think interest is more important

    2009 transfers

You can basically transfer to any course from any other course. The only restriction I know of is that for law courses, you can't transfer if you've completed more than one year FTE

    2009 Main Round cut-offs

I'm pretty sure you're right. If you're above the 2009 cutoff there is no reason you should miss out

    2009 Main Round cut-offs

Yeah. Also the cutoffs are sometimes artifically high

    2009 Main Round cut-offs

You shouldn't technically, but they let people in with UAIs below the cutoff

    2009 Main Round cut-offs

You still have a chance of receiving an offer if your UAI is below the cutoff

    2009 Main Round cut-offs

No sometimes they keep the cutoffs high w/o filling the courses

    how does the timetable work?

I found UTS' system good for most subjects, but a few made you put preferences in, which was sucky

    usyd enrolment

This question has been answered numerous times. Subjects that are in higher bands cost more than those in lower bands

    usyd enrolment

Yes that's the only money you'll need to bring, and there isn't even a need for that provided you have a tax file number. And I think I read that you can pay by mid-February to get the discount. And re: different prices for subjects, the table you posted applies to a full-time load (ie. 48 CP)...
