    Myth?

Many years ago, AMEB exams were used for HSC examination. Obviously this is no longer the case, though I think that examiners skilled in the assessed instrument are far more suitable than high school teachers who may or may not play an instrument.

Re: um... ok wtf. SRC elections. Duncan is an absolute champion - and I say that as his opponent for that same position!

    Boost juice at sydney uni

Agreed, the important issue is not whether Those Evil Capitalists are profiteering, but whether students are being offered the best possible service. I do not see how anybody can argue that providing a variety of services such as Boost Juice in addition to Union services could be anything but...

    SRC Elections 2006

I heard about that, some of the students I spoke to who were in that lecture said that Sonia dealt with the hecklers very well.

    SRC Elections 2006

Both Labor and Liberals are campaigning over at UTS until thursday, so they've left skeleton crews to man USYD. That, and the constant rain have made it difficult to campaign. I hope you've all seen the new Voice posters going up around the uni. Ironically, the "evil right-wing fascists" are...

    SRC Elections 2006

They're all members of Labor factions. Also, it's not homophobic if it's true. That quote actually came from a (gay) classmate of mine (who will be supporting Sonia and Voice), and I sort of appropriated it for this discussion. Because one, if a gay person says it, it's not homophobic. And...

    SRC Elections 2006

Well, Sonia is a damned good candidate. I wouldn't be supporting her bid for the Presidency if I didn't think so. In 2004 or 2005, I ran because I felt that there were no good candidates for the Presidency. I was, in fact, ready to run for the Presidency myself this year - I had collected my 10...

It's not just a business, but also an academic interest. I'm performing research in a number of areas including methods of cultivating and maintaining trees using less water and space, and working on a book to be released in 2007 or 2008.

    SRC Elections 2006

It was my intention to create a campaign video to play during lectures, with somebody counting 600 dollar coins over a half hour. While that's obviously not practical, I believe the message is still important, as I do not believe it is fair for our SRC to spend money protesting in favour of...

Re: um... ok wtf. SRC elections. http://www.usyd.edu.au/senate/currentUGCandidates.shtml is a useful site. We were given the option of providing longer statements, which the University has published here.

USyd Students - the VSU Era - What will you do?

Let's put it this way. If you don't vote for Sonia and her team this year, next year the Union, SRC and Sport will be receiving huge "grants" from the University that won't be used to reduce class sizes, the cost of course readers (which are far more reasonable than Union fees), or the...

Re: Undergraduate Representative to the University Senate Hear, Hear! edit: I don't actually support the Coalition government, but I'll support those motions purely because it'll piss off the hippies.
