    Official BOS Trial 2016 Thread

Course candidature of around 3371 Read somewhere that 97 is like top 1-2% so yea. Correct me if I'm wrong :P Edit: If you check out the scaling report by UAC http://www.uac.edu.au/documents/atar/2015-ScalingReport.pdf 99th percentile for MX2 is 49/50 = 98 HSC mark (top 30) But to be fair...

IF YOU WANT TO DO MEDICINE:

Ah probably not. They do offer it though - although it doesn't look compulsory by any means.

IF YOU WANT TO DO MEDICINE:

We learn using pre-dissected cadavers in "anatomy labs". They're not in jars (which Futurama might get you to think), but they're laid out on a table and yea you get to feel/touch it etc. I don't think the issue is that med students will react to the presence of a dead body, moreso it's the cost...

UYSD does them, as I'm aware. But not UNE anymore. RIP lol.

HSC Economics 2016 essay question predictions?

I think it's possible. Unlikely though, given there's other topics that are more urgent. Environment questions are pretty curveball given they don't link that well to other topics. But since it wasn't exactly last year that they asked it, it is possible they ask it.

HSC Economics 2016 essay question predictions?

This is what I think High highly likely NOT: (these were asked 2015) - External stability - International orgs/trade agreements - Eco growth sources/effects Probably not: - Micro policies (asked in 2015 but repeating it IS possible but unlikely) - Inflation (ask in 2014, and inflation...

Economics essay help!!!!!!!!!! Please reply ASAP

You can write a tonne on this essay q. As others have mentioned, Fiscal Monetary Microeconomic policies For each, briefly talk about how they work then paragraphs noting their relevance to ALL the economic objectives (eco growth, unemployment, inflation, etc...). For random ones like...

Internal Marks that past State Ranker's have gotten.

94 for my eco trials. Which in hindsight is pretty low for state rank... but it was enough to top so there ya go. Different schools mark differently though, so don't assume that if you get 94 for your trials you'll state rank (and if you get less than 94 that you won't!). All about that rank in...

Should I aim for Grad Med rather than Undergrad?

Undergrad is the easiest. It gets a lot harder to get in if you don't get in the first time as a school leaver (number of positions available + number of uni's that even offer places to postgrad decreases). UMAT prep isn't particularly essential. As far as I can see, you can start preparing...

Which universities do not require UMAT for Medicine course ?

How many hours of study for a 99+atar

In my defence I genuinely enjoyed studying (esp maths)! I guess that's why I didn't burn out?

How many hours of study for a 99+atar

I studied from 4pm-10pm weekdays after school minus dinner shower break (2.5 hrs?) + time during recess/lunch/frees during school hours Weekends 10am-10pm is not something that has not been done. Not 12 hours of course - subtract lunch dinner study break etc. I stop at 10 because my brain...

Extracurricular activities needed for Medicine entry

Don't quantify your volunteering in terms of hours but in terms of what you got out of it (the experiences you had/what you learnt/what skills you developed) because that's what you'll be talking about in the interview. I've been to most of the interviews and I didn't get asked how long I did...

How does one do well when they struggle in maths

I think I'm decent at maths, and I have to agree with resisting the temptation to look at the answer straight away (for hard questions I mean!). It's when you figure out how to do the tough questions yourself that your deductive skills truly improve. If you spent 1 minute on a Q15/16 style...

Paths into Australian Medicine - Flowchart

Might be more than 40 considering you get people from other states going for the interview (I'm assuming you said 40 because that's around the number of people who get .95 in nsw?)

    How to refrain from distractions

Well the solution is to take breaks! The so called "willpower" that other people talked about declines as you study more and more. You might be able to refrain yourself from getting distracted for the first hour of using the computer, but you'll gradually get more inclined to procrastinate etc...

    How to refrain from distractions

Eye see you are getting distracted... ;) Getting off distractions is hard. On top of what everyone else said you should also remember to take breaks as necessary. If you're studying 4 hours non stop then you will most likely burn out and start procrastinating. Keep studying in little chunks. Do...
