It is fair, it likely means that the school's assessments were comparitively easier than other school's whose top achievers attained internal marks similar to their HSC marks.

Ahh... And I assume my friend gets my exam mark as their internal, and we both keep our respective HSC marks?

Confirm this for me. I'll use an example. I am ranked first by the time the HSC exams roll around, my friend is ranked second. I get the second top mark in the HSC exam, my friend gets the highest mark in the HSC exam. Do I get my friend's HSC exam mark?

Four practice english responses back today, 45minutes apiece, 2 creative, 2 essays. 14/15/14/13.5 respectively.

Makes sense. A lot of the editing is to do with making sentences flow better, and fixing up those words or phrases that jar the responder's reading. edit: 6209 words now, time for bed. Feels good to have reached the minimum word count limit. I estimate I'll need about 1.5 thousand words to hit...

I've set myself a definitive deadline for a fully working draft on the 9th of March, it should prompt me to work with a bit more motivation.

5500 words as of tonight, spent too much of the holidays revising and editing and neglected actually *finishing* the story.
