    2007 co-op

Do you have anything to back that up with or not really? I just have doubts because I wouldn't have received an interview in that case. Ah yeah I forgot about that evening. I didn't attend because my interview was at 2, so I didn't want to wait 4 hours. Interview went well but since...

    2007 co-op

How do you know that? I didn't see anyone else at my interview and I was there waiting a fair bit before. I didn't get to see what my school predicted for my UAI but I'm sure it wouldn't have been near 100. I have a feeling they won't be too concerned about ultra-uber UAIs though, since they...

first in subjects / premiers award

They don't do all the top 20. Even if you get 2nd you only find out on the 19th. I think around 250 people each year get the premiers. Cereally though, getting first in the state isn't much of a big deal. You just get a certificate, no money or anything. Even for premiers you get some sort...

first in subjects / premiers award

In 2004, the first in state calls were made 4 days before the HSC results came out, and the ceremony was the day before. I.e. this year the ceremony should be Monday 18th and notifications probably around Thursday. But if you check the forums this week, you'll see people logging on to brag it...

    Wii

Ah, I remember going and getting the gamecube the day of its release. If money was no object, I'd be getting the wii tomorrow as well. Its an amazing little gem.

    copper block and magnet question

heh, oh dear... Sorry, I was thinking something that was non-conducting, and for some reason I wrote magnetic, probably because at the time I realised aluminium conducts and so i must have meant magnetic.

    Predict your raw mark

Disclaimer: Don't be alarmed at this, members of the general public, this guy has always been purely insane at maths. And haque, stop depressing the masses :p. We all thought it was freakin hard.

    Band 6 cut off?

You realise they give about the top 30% of MX1 students a band 6? It'll be around 60, seeing as its usually mid-60 and this one was a fair bit harder.

How did you find the difficulty?

The difficulty wouldn't have been that bad if they just set LESS questions for goodness sake. The Q7 was one of the easier ones. I mean, that projectile question in Q6, was about 3 pages of working for about 5 marks. And that parametrics question was a ton of working for each mark or 2...

Q25) Developer's View of the Hardware

Yeah thats true. They shouldn't have even put either then...OR still means OR.

    Context Diagram

Priesty, I'm fairly sure you wouldn't lose marks for labelling a context diagram. I did IPT two years ago and SDD now, I always used to label them, but it isn't essential. Though I think you can lose marks for not labelling a DFD.

    software design

Yeah I left about an hour, should be 100%. (seriously, never leave exams early if you want a good mark).

    Multiple Choice Answers

Wicked65, why would they need to read? The program doesn't require them to read. I only just realised I screwed 17 because of that 0 index, and for some reason I ptu D for 12. Should read properly. Q20 though, I don't know, it could be C? Does data go straight from registers to secondary...

Q25) Developer's View of the Hardware

Thats almost exactly what I had. Although I think you had the division question wrong. The idea for division is that computers do every operation by addition, so in division the shift and subtract is performed by "shift, take two's complement, add". For the circuit design one I had the same...

    Q4b

If it's rotated about the y axis it doesn't matter if its on one side or both sides, cause its rotating. Seriously though, it'll be one mark...negligible.

    copper block and magnet question

Wouldn't it have been funny if they chose something that wasn't magnetic, like aluminium? Actually no, that would have been awful...

    Multiple Choice

Why not just take your exam home? oh let me guess, you doused, flamed and videod it, then uploaded it to youtube, and realised you wanted it :P

    Want to compare multiple-choice answers?

Hey lawrence :p 12 is C. The velocity parallel to the field direction is unaffected. I think 9 is B but I'm not sure. It doesn't make sense that it would be an alternating current because there is no coil. I.e. the eddy currents should always be in the same direction. I think I got them all...

    question 16 ?

The reason why you can't use W=fs or W=mgh is because when you move far away from the earth's surface, the value of g changes, especially 10 000 km up. w=mgh can be used but only when you're close to the surface. I think they'd probably accept 1.75 and 0.75 though. They've got to be more...
