I don't think it means that it's capped.. I think it just means that the highest mark in the HSC in 2008 was 49/50 (98) and that scaled up to 50/50, 100? So in that way, physics is not capped. Correct me if I'm wrong please. :)

My good mate actually did Twilight and Harry Point for the Year 11 AOS (Journeys) this year - he got 7/15 for the assessment task which required us to integrate related materials with our core text.

Haha, no, it actually wouldnt have any impact. Because essentially, the ATAR is a rank, and therefore people will still get 99.95 (the people with the top average raw marks, going by what you said above). So really, the HSC marks would just be worse, but in reality, ATARs would still be up at...

Do you think that if you contacted BOS, you'd be able to explain your situation to them? There may be a rule that doesn't permit your school to place such restrictions on your HSC. Worth a try. Good luck!

Yeah, I personally felt it lacked the degree of authenticity required for a short story. Perhaps work on building up the realism in your story. The lack of authenticity may be derived from the fact that your plot is somewhat cliched, which probably limits your capacity to go that extra step...

Yeah, best way to get a grasp of vocab is to actually use it in a particular context and appreciate where you've put it. That way, you then become accustomed to the specific times you can insert that word, and thus your vocabulary expands and your word choice becomes more sophisticated.

i thought it was alright. though I realised I stuffed up the last depreciation question because I didnt realise it was 9 months - instead I did it for one year! :( that means my journal entries will be wrong to - let's hope I'm only penalised by 1 mark and there are consequential errors...

Distance often acts as a hindrance, as per my own situation. But good on you for making that tough decision! It must have been hard. And I'm glad that you've really "found your place" (haha belonging) in your school.
