    The Woolworths Thread

I haven't done a late shift for a while - it at least used to be $300 (5 x $20, 10 x $10 and 20 x $5) but guess it could have changed because I remember being instructed to leave 3-4 50's in the drawer when I was signing off (but this wasn't that late but on a drawer that's not really used of a...

It's not necessarily hourly - well at least at my store it isn't. The amount/regularity of a clearance depends on how busy you are. You're meant to keep an eye on your till (the register does tell you when a clearance is necessary, but usually it needs doing before the warning appears). Busy...

Because the Coles thread isn't very popular and thus less interesting then this thread. I find it interesting to see the differences between woolies and coles.

Our tills are on a 2 week rotation. eg. 601 (Reg 1), 602 (reg 2) ... and then the next week its 701, 702 etc so we do get the tills/floats from the night before except on mondays. on sunday nights the tills are stripped back to no more then $300 in notes (and whatever coins are just left...

I hate it when you get on a register that isn't regularly used and it has been raided for change so you've got like nothing but 5 cent pieces. So at Woolworths, do you just order change when you need it and call a supervisor?

That's what my 2IC told me. They take the notes straight out and put the container in the little hole so we shouldn't have many going missing. I don't exactly like working Mondays - particularly morning, cos the changemaster is mostly empty! or at least in my experience it has.

I haven't heard that exactly. I've forgotten to put slips in clearance bags before and it wasn't a big deal so I highly doubt that. I do know that for every plastic cyclinder (that the notes come in) that is not returned to Armaguard, Coles is charged $10.

I received the SMS at 5.50am both years (accelerated). Can't quite remember about online results though.

Has anyone ever bought a book online before?

I've also bought from Book Depository and I would definitely recommend them. The book was delivered quickly and with only a slight crease on the top right hand corner of the cover (which although disappointing at first, the cheaper price certainly makes up for it). I once attempted to order...

    The Woolworths Thread

I've only cancelled two shifts before, all other ones were rostering mistakes which I don't believe I should have to find someone to cover when I had given adequate notice of unavailability. Of those two I cancelled, I did not find a replacement because one was for a funeral (told them on the...

How would that cover the shift you can't work? They are different days. Have you tried giving away the shift rather then swapping? Giving away is no different to canceling the shift except that you have to find a replacement, not the CSM. Obviously all stores are different (and business's...

it depends on who is supervising as to whether we get our breaks on time. i've known someone to go within the last 30min of her break but that doesnt happen very often and she was actually happy she got her break so late cos it meant only 15min left once she returned. another guy the other week...

How'd you manage to take 2 weeks off at Christmas time! At my store (Coles), no one is allowed to take any time off (unavailable, unpaid, annual leave etc) in December. Basically have to fight for it.

Assignment printing is making me poor! cheap printers?

How much does it cost to buy all five cartridges? Mine takes 4 and they cost $70 all up - definitely get more then 1-2 assignments printed from that so its cheaper to buy the cartridges in my opinion.

That's standard hourly rate for a 18yr old - actually a bit more then I got at those ages. It takes me 20min to get to and from work.

There's no way I will be wearing mine every shift, I'm too lazy to wash it all the time. Also won't wear it over normal shirt - will get too hot. How many hours are you getting? I got 4hrs this week, not sure about next week. Although I still have HEAPS of TAFE work to do this year so I happy...

I like them :) You don't have to wear them every shift - we only get 1 anyway. Last year we were given hats too!
