After further thought I'm planning to head to Coles (sister will be able to help me and such) and she told me that every 6 months your pay goes up. Is this true?

I posted this in the Coles and Woolworths thread but since this is more a general topic too, I thought maybe posting a topic might help. Straight up; as a casual employee (who honestly doesn't remember signing any contracts), is it illegal, and can I face dismissal if I work at two competitors...

Do you know if its illegal or I can face dismissal if they find out I work at Coles (Woolworths that is, or vice versa). Some people told me it's illegal, but told me it isn't. I never remember signing any contracts (do casual employees even have to sign a contract?) so I'm not sure.

Hm.. was told it was. Not sure how to officialy find out =/

I jsut had my Deli shift this afternoon. It isn't to hard, but at my Deli (Oakleigh, Melbourne) when there aren't any customers to serve it can get pretty boring. You need to wear an apron and a hat (or one of those weird looking nets if you want). Pretty simple stuff to do, customer asks for...
