    Engineering Course Workloads?

    The workload for a double degree and a single degree is the same, it just takes more years to complete the degree. I think mech eng would have about 25-30 contact hours per week. If you're concerned with workload, you could always do fewer subjects and take longer to complete the degree. +1

    Comp Sci

    I plan to, but I'm in first year, so can't help that much :P I'll let you know in a year or two.. AFAIK you don't need physics. Even if you did need physics for anything, apparently HSC physics doesn't help much.

    Recommendations as to whether a laptop is beneficial

    Tablet laptops are pretty useful. No messy/heavy paper to deal with. Expensive compared to normal laptop tho.

    No you do the same number of subjects each semester (unless you overload), it just takes more years to complete

    Haven't finished these courses yet, but I'm procrastinating so might as well: COMP1917 Ease: 7/10 It's quite challenging if it's your first time programming.
