    Projectile Motion

What maths do you do? From what I've heard, HSC physics doesn't tell you where the formulae come from. If you can do simple differentiation and integration, the formulae actually become pretty obvious. Check out some 3unit textbooks (or 2unit - not sure if they have that topic) Also what...

And for the cheap Asians, free stuff.

do i really need physics for software engineering

Sorry, I saw Carrotstick's post and assumed you meant UNSW. As far as I can see, HSC physics isn't assumed at Usyd either, although there appears to be some physics courses there. http://sydney.edu.au/handbooks/engineering/undergraduate/schools/electrical_information/software.shtml

do i really need physics for software engineering

http://www.computing.unsw.edu.au/softwareengineering.php It's not. The only computing degree that requires physics is computer engineering, which is more on the electrical engineering side of things.

    Underage at O-week

There's heaps of events: http://www.oweek.info/timetable.html Last year I think there was some sort of underage party. Dunno about this year.

    Probability Questions

Q15 - at least $50. It is the same as the method you used for "at least one prize", except now the third prize doesn't matter because it's less than $50. So 1 - (199/200 x 198/199). Q16 a) Think about all the possibilities related to red balloons. You can have no red balloons, one red balloon...

    Textbook Lists?

Don't know, but you don't need to worry too much about it. You can buy your books after your lecturer tells you what you need (in many cases it's not really necessary).

Engineering at UNSW - computing 1A??

There isn't a scaling system like our HSC / ATAR one. However, individual faculties might scale marks for particular subjects against each other (e.g. MATH1131 with MATH1141 or PHYS1121 with PHYS1131). You can do either, I think (or even COMP1917).

Engineering at UNSW - computing 1A??

Lol sorry, realised it was a "Secret Group" or something - PM me your FB and I'll add you to it. I'll add you to the 1927 group as well although that seems kinda dead now (people doing in summer don't seem to be posting much)

Engineering at UNSW - computing 1A??

Oh yes, so true about the disorganisation - Richard's a great lecturer but on the admin side, things were pretty messy. (Although this was actually a good thing for me, I didn't procrastinate until the due date (well not as much) because I had no idea what the due date was...) Btw who are you...

Engineering at UNSW - computing 1A??

They don't assume you have ever programmed - you start from the very beginning and the tutors are very helpful. That said, having programming experience certainly makes it easier. I think it would depend on how much time you are willing to put into it - it was one of the more time-consuming...

Travel - Which is better for a Uni student?

Sorry was unclear, the mymulti you need plus prices are on the fare calculator too. Add the information you get from there along with the cost of travelten is all you need. For most people (more than 3 days a week), mymulti is the way to go.

Travel - Which is better for a Uni student?

For the people asking: http://www.cityrail.info/tickets/fare_calculator is all you need. And $14 for a travel ten (Central to UNSW - MyBus2).

Engineering at UNSW - computing 1A??

    I think it's because there's more content and it's more fast-paced than COMP1911.

    Enrolment Questions

Not sure about those. Varies I guess? I think most law degrees don't have general education though.

    Enrolment Questions

You do have to do general education in a double degree, but only 6uoc not 12. At least for the ones I've seen.
