my hair is also ridiculously curly, but i find i get nicer curls if i use rollers or a GHD. The curls you get from both are nice. However rollers take FOREVER to put in, dry, and take out - so I'd go for the GHD. Also, if you stuff up for some reason, its alot easier to fix it with the GHD...
