I believe that presumption of innocence is a critical part of any fair judicial system, along with trial by jury. This is not present in Sharia law (and presumption of innocence not in European states with Inquisitorial system either fyi).

The Australian Legal system is in no way barbaric (in principle). It expresses the values of democracy, presumption of innocence and the freedom to a trial by jury. None of the above can be said for the Sharia Legal system. Fin.
