You won't necessarily have to do 5 subjects next semester if you drop a subject. You might find that one semester you'll just do one subject. And natstar is right though, if you drop it before the census date it won't show up on your academic transcript and you don't have to pay for it.

It really depends what areas of tourism and hospitality you intend to get into. If you want to work in say a travel agent, its better to go to tafe and do atleast a certificate 2 or higher. If you want to work as a planner, marketer, etc those government jobs its best to go to uni. Don't know...
