    MULS election 2008

Hey guys, after speaking to you guys a lot of you seemed interested in trying to change things in the law school. I am hoping to run a ticket this year for MULS after seeing how hard it was to go as an independant. Last time I was not organised enough to get a ticket organised so this might be...

Everything you ever wanted to know about mooting but were afraid to ask

I think its something to do with the fact that we are so restricted by rules that it seems a fun idea to break them! I'm also not your average nerdy law student and like to suprise peope ;)

What do you hate about law students?

Are you at UWS, was the moot a bail application for Criminal law? Moots are like an appeal in an appelate court, thus no witnesses, no arguments of fact, its all law. You argue points of law with the judge who will interject and ask you questions, as does the other side.

    400/500 Law Electives

I'm currently in the same situation as you, I was thinking of doing summer school but I was thinking I might come back for the final semester and do some volunteer work at the DPP because I was to secure one of their PLT positions.

    The 'Law Students' Lounge

I've freaked out many a law geek by suggesting we go for a romp in the moot court. I don't know why they'd be so freaked out by it lol. I haven't been successful though as my b/f and I are at different uni's now. In all honesty I am very innocent :)

    The 'Law Students' Lounge

Depends on how sexy they are... Today at work I was doing research in the Bar Association Library and I must say it was really sexy, worth the bar association fees! I wonder if I could study in there without people noticing since no one even noticed I was by far the youngest person there...

    the pill

Sounds like its the generic version. If it is it should be the same and it shouldn't be a problem. I was prescribed microgynon 30ED but I get levlen ED which is the generic version, it has the exact same amount of hormones and is like $10 or so cheaper. If you are worried ask your doctor...

What do you hate about law students?

I think its more the fact that in the future I am likely to be a blood sucking lawyer!

    The 'Law Students' Lounge

You wont need a bridging course. The level of analysis required at uni is different to school anyway and you learn it as you go along as well as in your introductory law subjects that focus on legal writing. Don't worry the reason most peoples marks in first year are worst than their marks in...

    the pill

I'd say the best thing to do is to ask your doctor. I'd think though that going on and off would mess you around a bit and make you feel sick until your hormones would adjust, one of my friends was trying one out for the first time...felt sick, gave up a week in and stopped taking them which...

    the pill

The only thing that bothers me about not skipping (other than the inconvienience of a period) is that icky/tired feeling I have for the next few days going back onto the active pills. What time of day do people take theirs and which ones are you on? I take Levlen ED at 8:30am.
  14. melsc

    the pill

Most people I know who skip frequently generally do so due to medical conditions like Endometriosis and their doctors tell them they should try and have a period every three months. I think you should talk to your doctor and then decide what's best but if you are worried make sure you try...

    Donoghue v Stevenson

It should be compulsary viewing in all Tort's classes. Would have loved to have discovered it in first year.

    the pill

Many people are but I don't know how often it actually occurs. I didn't gain any when I went on mine (besides my boobs going up about 1/2-1 cup size) and I am on one of the cheaper ones (Levlen ED generic version of Microgynon 30ED - about $17 for four months worth) If you do think you will gain...

    400/500 Law Electives

I am just looking for the file on my computer. I am already thinking about runnin but this time I think I might try and get a ticket together, although I think I will be selective about who I get i.e. people actually interested in changing stuff rather than those who only want to have something...

    400/500 Law Electives

I hope so, I made such suggestions (as I was approached by MULS to do so) to MULS but I don't know what the result was, I think David Spencer was one of the people trying to achieve change and it sounded good but I dont know how far it will go. Personally I think 3 essays for a subject is overkill.

    400/500 Law Electives

Same as UWS, skills are compulsary in most units (i.e. mooting and other forms of assessment) so you get practice and then you can take skills subjects which knock part of ur PLT out of the way. If it wasnt for the reputation of UWS and the lack of mooting and other oportunties that followed...
