By onboard I mean is it built in onto ur motherboard or is it in a pci slot?

well the fact that it wasnt in the device manager suggests to me like its not picking it up yes i meant not lol

yea it sounds like ur computer is picking it up anymore, if it in the device manager it probably isnt installed anymore

hmmm...what happens when you go to system, device manager and then ur vid card then click properties...wat does it say

The same thing happened to me when I reformatted my computer with XP... my sound driver stuffed up and I got the error message "device cannot start" everytime i re-installed the driver. I had to replace mine, but it seems to me that you are trying to re-install the wrong driver?
