source E was an extract from professor wallace hadrill, who started the Herculaneum conservation project. basically a massive archaeological project in Herculaneum aimed at restoring the town through funding, as the town received even less international funding than pompeii and was neglected.

even if you didn’t get to study him, all you really needed to know is that he was talking about how Herculaneum by comparison has far less public buildings which makes studying its public life a bit more difficult. but you can make inferences from the bathhouses and the theater that’s there as well as the absence of many public buildings to show the wealth of the town
I MENTIONED BATHHOUSES AND THEATRE OMG okay this makes me feel a bit better.

My teacher didn’t like the Julio Claudians one either, because the death of Augustus one really was a huge trap that talks mostly about his reforms + changing role of princeps, etc

I did the other one on the success of the rulers and said Claudius, which I had an easier time doing
genuinely everyones reforms disappeared from my brain so i just panicked and warped death of augustus so i could talk abt how much gaius/nero sucked lol

for those who did the Julio Claudians who chose option B? or if you chose option A how did you find it
ngl i predicted changing image of nero so when death of augustus popped up i talked about how augustus' death impacted the principate to a large extent bc since he was no longer there, the principate descended into chaos/eventual destruction
