look even i have some (albeit small and certainly not critical of all but only a small percentage of jews) reservations about jews, extreme, virulent anti-semitism is one thing that has always completely baffled me especially as it (MAY) crystalise itself in criticism of israel

so why is the left so obsessed with israel? treatment of palestinians does not equal anything like what occured during say south african apartheid (not that i necessarily am making a value statement about apartheid here), its basically a mild issue that though there may be some kinks and things worthy of criticism here (frankly i dont care) it seems like a massive stink over something that isnt a big deal at all

i know peopl like to point out ANTI ZIONISM or ANTI SOME OF ISRAEL'S POLICIES =/= anti-semitism which is obviously true but does anybody suspect that the absolute foaming at the mouth obsession the left has with jews is the result of anti-semitism in some form or another?? it doesnt seem to be for any other good reason at all because what theyre crying about and so often isnt particularly interesting or that important esp. relative to other issues

It's like the only human rights that Muslims generally care about, but for Socialists it probably comes back to the natural hierarchies thing that got brought up in the England riots thread. White skinned Jews have the highest average IQ in the world and socialists hate everyone who has a higher position (economic, etc.) than brown people.

they dont hate oriental east asians for instance though they do vent out occasionally about the persistent never dying xenophobia that exists in industrialised, ultra-successful oriental countries

the left is generally philosemitic as well and adore the holocaust industry etc but it still seems to totally jar with their bubbling seething rage against israel which really does exist if youve ever talked to them about this

idk whether theyre really anti semitic or not on this matter im definitely willing to accept the idea that israel is partially a racialist state which obviously would PISS OFF THE LEFT TO NO END but how aware are they of this??/ and the issue of jewish identity is exceedingly complicated as well and i doubt most of the bubblers and ragers have ever attempted to get their head around it

i generally subscribe to lawrence auster's theory of leftist racial sympathy on this matter

the less well behaved and less successful a non-white group is the more the left sympathisses with it

oriental east asians are generally confounding to the left because they totally violate the white oppression narrative they have woven (given that they are more successful than whites; there is even a hierarchy of success within oriental east asian groups as well, though a lot of the groups listed here i would not consider oriental east asian:

so they are usually ignored or downplayed but yeah the situation is still more complicated than this

That aside, the reason I brought up the fact that others are treated worse is because Muslims and leftists are incredibly rabid about Israel, but don't give a fuck about the Syrian gov't murdering peaceful protestors on the streets but will stage protests for days if Israel does it. Syrian government using rape in prisons as a means of torture to silence political opponents doesn't even get any spotlight, but if something bad happens to a Palestinian within 10,000 miles of Israel, it's Holocaust 2.0. Now I'm not saying any of this is justifiable in any context, because it's fucking disgusting, but Iran torturing Christians to convert to Islam, hanging homosexuals, other Muslim citizens honour killing women who have been raped because they were unfaithful to their husbands and promptly being set free by authorities. None of this matters at all to a Muslim or Leftist when people are buying fucking Max Brenner hot chocolate. It boggles the mind how people can think like this.

I don't really understand the hate toward Israel either. Look it's pretty clear that they've done some pretty terrible stuff, but let's face it - there are lots of other countries who have done far worse. The hate the state of Israel is receiving is disproportionate to the wrongs it has committed. America for example violates international law all the time but nobody seems to be going crazy. The post above mine is actually pretty good (good job Lolsmith) and the examples used are right on the money. From what I can see a lot of the hate is simply a mechanism to further certain political agendas.

Nothing pisses me off more than the ill informed bat shit insane lefty types who take every single opportunity to violently (and stupidly) protest against something without truly understanding it. Trying to have a productive debate with them is literally on par with talking to a brick wall.
