Ok so like my English assessment (in-class) is lowkey TOMORROW 😭 . Does anyone have any advice on how I can make sure that I make a good thesis statement in relation to the question in order to set a good precedent for the rest of my essay? (Context: Common Mod)
Yeah i agree with use hard words, and also use the words from the question. The teacher's probably half skimming by the time they get to your paper and as long as you sound like you know your stuff and the essay has the vibes of the question they won't think too much of it. Sprinkle the words from the question all over your essay and English writing becomes kinda chill (disclaimer im not an english nerd i hate english)

Hey is it just me or do you feel really mid about every single exam you've done this term... like they haven't been disastrous (but only cause you stepped up your dedication to study) but none of them went THAT well

Cause I'm used to doing really well in some but perhaps flopping a couple, but idk why I think I might prefer that

nah same i've basically been getting straight 80s this term lol. but i would prefer not to flop something like english.... like I'm gonna do eng adv next period and only 1 hour before the in-class component do i get emailed that we're not allowed to bring a page of quotes into the exam and HAVE to bring in our prescribed/related.... which I left at home!! idk if i can salvage my rank after this LMAO i'm astronomically cooked. kissing that 95+ atar goodbye

OH NO that ain't good... but 80s aren't bad, so you could surely recover if you get 90+ in most subjects next year

no it's impossible. you only have 75-80% of your internal mark to make up. if you got 50% and get straight 90%s next year you will get internal of 10% if you're lucky. idk why you haven't dropped out.
wtf r u saying

also depends on your subjects too because in extension 2 maths or physics there are people that would be fine with 60-70% as well. keep in mind too that the rank matters not the mark so you dont have to worry if your mark is bad but your rank isn't.

Does anyone else's school do compressed curriculum? just curious so I can cry with my online compressed curriculum friends.
Basically, compressed curriculum is a learning model where rather than doing 6 subjects at once, you do 3 in year 11, and then three in year 12. The year 11 and 12 content for that course is covered in one year and you do the hsc for that subject in that year. For example, I had english adv and bio this year, but not german continuers, since i do it from outside of school. Now ive come into year 12 with less stress and pressure to do all subjects at once. I actually thought that this model was quite helpful since it allowed me to focus only on those 2 subjects, rather than focusing on all of them. However, since my school does not do german continuers as a language, it will go as per the normal school structure. So now in school, I'm doing Maths advanced, chemistry and Business, alongside german cont. Just curious, since I haven't heard of another school apart from mine that does this. P.S. my periods go for two hours, and we have 3 periods a day for seniors. Luckily my school ends at 2:50 on one day, and 12:30 on one day
