a3 is only kinda bad cause you don't get many questions to do. a2 has like 12 pages and a1 has 16 pages
yeah thats true. do you know how the promotion thing works?

Not too sure on promotion but i think it should be usually top 5-10 people (at max counting both Burwood & Hurstville) and must have at least 90 raw average on quiz.

asking for a friend in a3, do you guys know when promotion emails typically come out? staff told her it would be in the holidays but she already went to her first 4u lesson apparently and shes worried she didn't make the cut

also she has a roughly 92 average when the overall average is like 80 and highest is 97. do you guys know what her chances are like? i told her i dont have a clue but i was wondering if anyone here has any idea.

also is a3 really that bad? ive looked through the questions and it doesnt look too dissimilar bc the optional questions are identical to a1/2 questions depending on the topic. ik a lot of ppl say a3 isnt worth it but im not sure if i should tell her to go somewhere else if she doesnt make it

@Average Boreduser you've gone du right? do you have any thoughts
I mean it also depends on the availability of spots in A2 (if people drop down or quit). Just cause you get an overall average 90> doesnot mean your confirmed to move up

Average of 90+ will always promote you to A2 and A1, worst case is if there is no spots, you get relegated to video.

Promotion letters are always on the first lesson of a new term.

Top 5 nets you money as well.

not 100% sure that an average of 90+ will always get you promoted, im assuming if the average is high it might not work that way, but thanks for the info about when the letters come out! ill let her know

first statement is incorrect. they are plenty of people I know who have gotten 90+ and not been able to move up. It all comes down to if they are spots in the higher levels

guys my friend sends an update: she emailed dr du ppl and they said promotions are usualy notified during the week 1 lesson of each term, usually in a physical copy during class if you are there, if not they will email you. minimum requirement for a promotion is a 90% average across all quizzes however depending on the cohorts performance the cut-off may be higher for some terms.

hopefully this helps someone in the same boat as her

They might also call you or your parents during the holidays to inform you of a promotion. You have the choice whether to accept or reject it and if you accept it, they'll update your class to the new one and you'll attend your new class during the 1st week. You'll also get the physical copy informing you of your promotion along with your award and cash prize during the 1st week.

for y11 term 3 and y12 term 4 they won't tell you in the holidays bc there is just a few days before the y12 4u classes start, so that's a special case ig. also you don't get awards or cash prizes for just a promotion, if you get an award or cash prize it probably means you are top 5 or smth like that
