I assume your talking about the SE W900, in which case that is the one I want as well.

Too bad no Australian release date has been announced yet.

I never buy phones outright, I just go on $0 (phone free) plans, sell off the phone and use the credit as needed with my pre-existing mobile.

A phone is a phone.

I have been considering this for around 4 months now. I have come to the conclusion that a memory card would be great, as would the ability to store songs on the memory card and use the phone as an mp3 player. A nice colour screen and a decent camera. Size is important and the smaller the better. It also needs to have all the standards - a good phone book, calendar, alarm, predictive text input for sms, decent call quality, volume and reception. A radio would be nice.

I have a Nokia 7250i. Had it for 2 years. The one thing I would like on my next phone is a decent camera. The phone I have now is so crap in terms of picture quality.

I'm looking at buying a flip phone with a camera. I have two types in mind;
Panasonic X400 and the Nokia 6101. Anyone had any experience with them?

I went into a phone store for a casual look at phones and the guy wouldn't let me leave. He was Asian so I had little clue what he was saying as well. Then he calls me up to tell me a phone I wanted to look at is now in stock, and asks "When will you come in?" and tells me to "Bring my mother", assumedly because she has the money.

I just bought the Sony Ericsson W550i :D
It is AWESOME!
Sound quality honestly craps on the iPods, the bass is so clean and the trebble doesn't distort.
The Loudspeaker quality is also amazing, like a good FM radio quality.
Takes pictures, video and also has photo/video editing programs ON THE PHONE!
Only complaints is the non-expandable 256MB memory.

It's not going to be the 'big thing' for a while yet. I'm thinking of getting the SE W800 (if the W900 doesn't come out soon/too big for my liking in real life) on a 24 month plan. That way when that plan expires (and also I would just have received my UAI results) I could get a better phone (who knows what will be available in 2 years time) for university =]

Last week i bought the sony ericsson K608i on the $29 cap, which gives u $120 a month credit, and no phone repayments. It's with 3, so u can access planet 3 and stuff. I seriously recommend getting this plan. and the phone is amazing, it can do anything, except take a memory card. It has 32MB internal memory, which is like 5 or 6 songs. I love this phone. Get it.

The main things I would look for when choosing a phone is firstly battery life, colour/graphics, its cool design and a decent camera/video recorder.

I just got the Nokia 6610i (I hate spending heaps of moolah on phones, so I usually end up with "old school" ones). I love it (such an upgrade on my 3315!) but it is a little annoying when I'm writing SMS's (purely coz the keys are weird)

I found the 6610i keypad a bit weird as well- I actually preferred the 7250i!

Hmm... I feel like I'm a sucker for mobile phones... whenever a new one comes out which I like... I just have to get it... atm I'm currently using a D600, but my past 6 or 7 phones in the last few years have all been Nokias- 8310, 3650, 6100, 6610i, 7250i, 9210, 7610... am also using a w800i (because my Dad can't stand it) but I also find it damn hard to use... It's got really nice features and so on, but when the interface comes into play, it just annoys me because I'm used to Nokia?

As for the other nokias mentioned in this topic.. n90 is nice but yes it's definitely too big- it feels awkward to open with one hand... and the only use of the swivel lens as seen in the add (where the guy rotates it to follow his son jumping on a trampoline) is pretty much the only use for it... but doesn't justify the extra weight/shape and lack of vibration. the n70 is very nice, but i feel like i'm about to drop it everytime i hold it... the weight dimensions are funny, but i like the modified s60 interface. What I don't get is why Nokia changed the power plug for their new nokias...
