I would coordinate efforts to remind Australia that China is a far more valuable partner to us than the fucking americans. This means massive civil disobedience, and possibly disabling military installations here.

Hmm with Tenix currently that wouldn't be hard to disable military installations.

But I doubt you have the knowledge to do that effectively and that there isn't any real major ones in Sydney they are all situated in the North where a person of Chinese decent moving to would be checked and your civil disobedience would be noted.

I'd also participate in the overthrow of the government, by force if necessary. Only when the conflict is over, will we hold elections.

Phanatical, i'm pretty sure ur comments proclaiming allegience to another country not just equally but over australia can get you thrown in jail.

But yes, i agree with phanatical... and i think phanatical should remember what he too said. China and Australia are friends, we are all part of the asia pacific region and i think we should be working together.
If i was in power i would be looking for a closer allegience to China than the US, while remaining a democratic nation.

if China and the US were to engage in war, I would want Australia to be on the side of China, willing to take arms against the american wankers.

It would be in the best interests of Australia to ally ourselves unconditionally with China and all our neighbours in an Alliance of Australasian nations, with the seat of government for this Alliance being, of course, in Beijing.

I have to agree, australia could benefit greatly from becomming much closer than we currently are.
If asia was to form something like the EU has going at the moment it'd be a pretty good thing to be a part of.

If Australia has conscription in preparation for a war with China, I would be certain to refuse in joining the army to fight them.

Then leave the damn country!

If our political powers decide that we're going to war with china... and as a nation we have decided to go to war, either you go to war or you leave the country.

What do you think would be a chinese governements response to people that don't want to go to war berry?

of course not, but i was taking the logic of berry and others that allegience to your country is foremost.

Which country do you people claim allegience to?

Yes but not going to war with china because you prefer china over australia should put you in jail.
In china if any soldier refused to go to war with taiwan i am sure they'd be put in jail.

Yes nathan, and australia is a nation where thankfully people can be against wars etc. Tell me, in china if i am conscripted and i refuse to go to taiwan because i feel it is an unjust war, what happens to me?

So we should create policies on what other countries do?

No of course not, i'm just trying to point out the irony of putting china before australia although in china you would have no choice. Which country would you rather live in people?

'Leave the damn coiuntry'? Under what law should I leave the country for? Deported because you're not dumb enough to join a war that has nothing to do with Australia's safety?

You know, besides in WWII, EVERY SINGLE war Australia has join got nothing to do with Australia.
If the Australian government has so much interests in joining wars, why not join the war between Russia and the Chechens?

In other words, the Australian government is FUCKED, but they country isn't.

You know, the situation between the two country is entirely different, and it's really not comparable.

If China is in a war with Taiwan, they're fighting towards their country's unification. If Australia is in a war, they're fighting for the Americans or British. In other words, not for themselves.

No of course not, i'm just trying to point out the irony of putting china before australia although in china you would have no choice. Which country would you rather live in people?
Because the situation gives them no choice if they're to survive, hence the Chinese has no choice.
But for Australia, its different. Australia has signed allied treaties with most neighbouring countries. If they're to be attacked, our allies country will reinforce our defence and vice versa. But for most wars (if not all) Australia has joined, it has nothing to do with threats directly or indirectly to Australia's national security.

You're basically comparing two people in why they punched someone the street.
(e.g Person A [China] is about to be robbed and A punches the robber.
Person B [Australia]'s friend is robbing someone, hence B punches the one being robbed because the one being robbed is attacking B's friend [robber])

In this situation, person B is said to 'wrong' by the judge, but can we also say person A is wrong because he apparent did the same thing?

In don't know about others, but you're certainly suggesting A's is wrong too because the judge says B is wrong.

look i dont side with either so ill point out both arguments..

the australian government chooses to correspond with Americas decisions because it fears other countries and by being a good ally of america they have the protection of one of the worlds most powerful nations, evidence being the war in iraq. Australia was never a srs target, and since austalias war efforts against terrorism, we have been subject to bombings, (like the jakarta one) but its a risk we take as we want to be under the wing of america

however, u cannot blame anyone for being patriots.. although we're citizens here and some are born here, our entire generation originated in china.. and being part of it has pride and the natural reaction to a decision for the war agnst china wuld be to be rebel against the decision.

haha i mean.. if there was a war between america and china the worlds gone.. itll surely end in a nuclear war.. i mean.. if ur nation is losing the war and ur bout to be defeated and run over.. as if u wuld launch nukes.. thats the main reason against the decision for a US anti missile blanket in space... thatll make the us 2 powerful.. so.. yeh.. a war between 2 main powers = nuclear death.. holocaust anyone?

Btw, http://au.news.yahoo.com/041222/3/saeh.html

In an interview with the PBS television station, the number two man at the State Department said the Taiwan Relations Act requires the United States to maintain sufficient force in the Pacific to be able to deter attack but does not require the country to defend Taiwan should it come under attack from the mainland. He added that the power to declare war rests with the Congress.
What should I do? Laugh at the Chinese rebel's stupidity?

Ah, stupidity? I can see nothing within that quote to suggest that they would (not may) be left stranded by the US... Besides, without knowing the current political climate of the US Congress it would be a difficult to comment on their probable stance on a possible war following a Chinese (i.e., mainland) attack on Taiwan.

Edit: Sorry about that final line, too.

Not attack, but reunification. :uhhuh:

Well the Chinese rebels (Taiwanese) has basically been left stranded by the US since the Americans turned their recognition to mainland China in the 70's (shit I forgot!), it's the 60's, 70's or 80's, but the 70's & 80's is more likely.

The Chinese Communist Party is hopelessly ineffecient and an embarassment on China's history.

It isn't about having rebel Chinese demanding self rule over their particular province, it's about resisting the absolute and undeniable shitness of the CCP, 'Chinese socialism' and the hopeless inability of the CCP to govern effeciently.

Taiwan independance.
