    USYD Engineering

You still have to transfer later on into mechanical which isn't guaranteed as it is based on demand by others wanting to study it. Keep mechanical as your top preference. You might be able to get in. Have quite a few backup options as well, including flexible first year.

    FEAS

Did you receive an e-mail which said that you are eligible for FEAS (after the interview of course)? You are pretty close to the cut-off so I think you have a decent chance of making it in provided that the demand isn't too high for engineering programs in 2016.

    Maff Q

    part b f(a) = 2a f(b) = 2b f(a) + f(b) = 2a + 2b f(a+b) = 2 (a + b) = 2a + 2b So, clearly for all a and b, f(a) + f(b) = f(a+b) = 2a + 2b part c f(a) = a + 1 f(b) = b + 1 f(a) + f(b) = a + b + 2 f(a+b) = (a + b) + 1 = a + b + 1 clearly, we can see that f(a) + f(b) \neq f(a+b) for all a...

    USYD Engineering

It's because of demand and supply. With flexible, it's set to a faculty cut-off, whereas with mechanical it is set to a cut-off by the school of mechanical.

    Mechatronic Engineering

There's definitely jobs available, but the amount available can vary from time to time. Look at trends for graduates with http://www.graduatecareers.com.au/research/researchreports/gradstats/ Although Mechatronics is not on the list, as you can see in the span of 5 years the statistics can show...

    Mechatronic Engineering

I disagree with this. There is an area of engineering which many people don't hear much about which actually incorporates many different areas. That is why it is perceived to be a mix of some sort when actually it is it's own area that is applied to many different areas. Mechatronics is a basis...

    UNSW or USYD

Different schools of engineering at different unis can be quite different. When I was picking which uni for engineering, I took into account the facilities provided, the learning environment and the industry ties. I found personally that UNSW was good for me. However, what works for me doesn't...

    UNSW or USYD

What do you want to study? What do you want to get out of the program? What do you want to get out of your university life? Have you visited each uni? Both are good for different reasons. We can answer if we gauge more of what you are looking for overall from the uni.

Integrated BE ME Electrical Engineering vs regular BE Electrical engineering

It's good if you want to get ahead in terms of professional positions (ie you won't have to come back later if you need a masters for some reason or if you have to enter a more in depth field and plus if you use the program wisely then you should have gained some extra skills in research and...

    Youth Allowance Question

For now I think you just say that you have completed high school. Once you receive your UAC offers and accept, then you can comfortably lodge your proof and your claim will be fine. Alternatively, what I did was wait until I had accepted my UAC main round offer. That way you don't have to tell...

Anyone who requested their raw marks?

You can buy them once results are out. When you buy them, you have a few options. First and foremost, you must get a results check. Then, you have the option of getting either a raw marks report, your exam paper, or both. Results check is literally just them counting up your marks. Raw marks...

UNSW 2015 Sem 2 Results Thread

I did alright. I didn't do as well in a few exams that I thought I had demolished but still raised my overall WAM this sem even though it was a brutal sem.

UNSW 2015 Sem 2 Results Thread

No-one is being forced to post. Post as you wish. Thread is public.

    Physics or Chemistry?

Why not study both? Umm depends on where you want to end up really. Both can be pretty useful here and there.

What would you like to see on BOS?

They can cater for completely different types of threads though. It would make everything too much of a cluster if that happened. Use one topic per thread. That way the thread flows along much more nicely and is more cohesive to those looking for advice or an answer.

    Physics or Chemistry?

Scaling is approximately similar relative to each over past 10 years. Similarly for aligning. You shouldn't consider this as something to base your decision off. You can do the maths in both coming from a general background, however it would be beneficial for you to come from a background of at...

FEAS Applicants - Will your chances lessen if you don't attend the interview?

Just go. You'll actually learn a bit from that interview too if you are keen (depends on your interviewer too I suppose).
