    University life?

Wait did you end up transferring to UNSW Elec? Nah you know what my background is and more than 50% of all my uni friends are asian.

    University life?

Idk what is being said above haha. I've made friends with all sorts of people in my courses. International students included. If you are sociable like me, honestly you should be fine at any uni. However, of course I am talking about the general case of friends uou only see at uni. I have a...

Post pics of your HSC Study Station. Other BOSers will rate and suggest improvements.

Re: Post pics of your HSC Study Station. Other BOSers will rate and suggest improveme there was a thread ages ago that had this and I remember posting my desk lol.

stupid shit you've done in class

    Yeah that's the thread.

stupid shit you've done in class

A sign on a train incorrectly said something like "apply 60 kg of force to this lever for emergency stop" and so I got out a pen and crossed out "force" with "torque" and it was about 1 m long so I wrote "600 Nm" and crossed out "60 kg"

stupid shit you've done in class

In Chem I had to get stitches because I was using glass forcefully and it broke in my hand and it went into me. That's probably dumbest accident of mine. However, I've done a lot more stupid and intentional crap in my junior years which I detailed in some other thread if someone can find it...

    Monster.

I got a really simple solution yielding x < 4\pi . Might be wrong though as I only took a few minutes to think about it and write it out. Edit: is this more of a simple logic based question or a question of many variables and tedious solution? Also, I remember the OP date being the date of...

    UNSW Scholarship application question

Some scholarships will be exclusive and require you to not be bonded to other scholarships/cadetships. Check if your current cadetship allows you to apply for other stuff. Depending on the question, I would list either individually or as a bunch. It really depends on whether they are asking for...

UNSW Actuarial Studies vs Commerce & Adv Maths

What do you want out of your studies? Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you see yourself working in in the future?

    State ranking 4u maths

You could also come first. For example, if rank 1 bombs the exam but the next 20% of the cohort is very close to rank 1 and they all demolish it then I think that is possible. In saying that, it would be important that quite a few people ranked below you do well.

    Related courses to mining engineering?

Depends what type of effect you are talking about. Do note however that your main degree of the program will be Engineering. Literally one third of your time is doing Commerce while the rest is Engineering. If you wanted to broaden your depth in Commerce, then you would be better off in...

    Related courses to mining engineering?

Yeah dual degree doesn't mean higher workload per semester. It's relatively the exact same amount of units. You just spend a few more years at uni and you won't have as much flexibility with electives with each.

    Related courses to mining engineering?

Yeah do Mat Sci or Science or something if you wanted to go through with an internal program transfer. If you are 100% sure you are going to transfer, then try to use up your first year electives to do stuff specific to Engineering (for example, ENGG1000, COMP191X/ENG1811, etc). Alternatively...

how many papers should you do

I did everything from 2004 to 2012 about twice for the sciences and maths in the month lead up to HSC. That was enough for me to get over 95. However, it is subjective to the individual. You should know your content very well before doing past papers. If I had my time again, I probably would...

Well how can you expect someone to even remotely understand what they are doing in post-graduate Chemical Engineering if they lack the fundamentals in Chemical Engineering?

    Central station is burning down

damn I just realised over the past 2 years a lot of stuff has happened at central for me so much that I guess when I visit central station in 30 years time I'll be telling my kids all these stories.
