    Properties of integrals

    for the limits you meant: 0-->1 right? ∫0 1 10100x(1-x)99dx = ∫0 1 (1-10100x).[1-(1-10100x)]99dx = ∫0 1 (1-10100x).(10100x)99dx = ∫0 1 (10100x99-10100x100)dx = [10100x100/100 - 10100x101/101]0 1 = (101-100)-(0-0) = 1 #

    Inverse trig functions

    Ahk, woops: Let tan-1(1/4)=α and tan-1(3/4)=β i.e. α+β=pi/4 take tan of both sides, tan(α+β)=tanα+tanβ/1-tanα.tanβ = tan(pi/4) =1 LHS = tanα+tanβ/1-tanα.tanβ = [1/4+3/5]/[1-3/20] = 1 therefore α+β = tan-1(1/4) + tan-1(3/4)...

    Inverse trig functions

    hmm, well kinda: Let tan-1(1/4)=α and tan-1(3/4)=β i.e. α+β=pi/4 take tan of both sides, tan(α+β)=tanα+tanβ/1-tanα.tanβ = tan(pi/4)=1 LHS = [1/4+3/5]/[1-3/20] = 1 =pi/4 =RHS Does that make sense?

    Car Safety

    oh okay prelim., i remember now. It was stuff to do with inertia and momentum/impulse..I found some of those notes: Safety Devices: 5.2.1 Inertia is an objects tendency to remain at rest or uniform motion unless acted upon by an external force, as governed by Newton’s First Law of Motion...

    Squirell Motors

    Arent squirrel cage motors the same as AC-Induction motors?, which have a squirrel cage: The rotor of an induction coil consists of a cylindrical core with copper rods embedded in longitudinal slits in the coil. The rods are connected to thick copper rings on each side forming a squirrel cage.

    i get 8+8i. I used arg(z)=(-pi/4) i.e. z=√2(cos[-pi/4]+isin[-pi/4]) z7=(√2)7[cis-7pi/4] = 8√2(cos[pi/4]+isin[pi/4]) (-7pi/4 + 2pi=pi/4 to make within principal arg) = 8√2(1/√2+[1/√2]i) = 8+8i
