Permuations and Combinations fucked me up big time in my first assesment task. In saying that i rarely feel any sort of pressure or stress in an exam. Its more topics that require analytical think that ur likely to make a mistake in when under pressure compared to ritual textbook questions.

Yeh i found out today that UNSW actually thinks that ppl that attend prep courses may be disadvantaged !

Re: UMAT Registration Does anyone know how accurate the uai/umat table on the unsw website ? Is it a rough guide or ru guaranteed a position if u meet the two cut offs provided u have a decent interview ?

Thinking back...if u want to take the sc seriously getting high band 6 is very very possible. I had a shit load of sporting commitments in yr 10 and still managed mid-high band 6's so if u put ur head down work, summarise do past papers i dont see any scope for error. :grinshak:

I think ill wait for another set of exams so i can be confident that i will meet the min UAI cut off. Arrgghhh i also found out today i fucked up english assesment worth 15% :burn:

Hey guys, I was just wondering how many people out there intrested in doing med are going to UMAT prep courses. I am trying to decide whether i should go or not but friends and family friends are telling me that its a waste of time and that the umat is one of those instinctive things that either...

If it is going to be anything like last year, i'll have my english exam then it will kind of be like bang bang bang wih my other subjects.

Basically, its all pretty much the same except in the lead up to assesment tasks. Less tv, less mucking around on stupid addictive computer stuff..less time with girlfriend...ect ect

I feel alot more comfortable this yr than prelim. Just developed a study pattern that is effective and works a treat. I never thought the hsc would feel the way it does. I had always imagined study, study and then mre study. How i was wrong.

Maths is really important if ur crap at english. You can make up alot of lost ground by ripping maths. But english is the most important...dere's NO escaping it 20% of ur hsc is going to be made up of ur english mark like it or not!:)

Those of you guys that have your exams spread out are lucky. I had 2 on a monday and one on tuesday and wednesday lyk 2 weeks ago. :cool:

Re: Half yearly results :) Adv Eng- Dont know yet 2u Maths- 100% (obviously wont count-10 units) equal 1st 3u Maths- 93% - 6th (cumulative rank) 4u Maths-71% - 6th Physics -86% 3rd Biology- 48/50 96% Equal first (cumulative)- Note :Test had a very dodgy sex-linkage q...

It is still very possible to get 99 with 3u maths. Doing well in 4u will mean nothing unless u back it up with your other subjects as well. I know a guy that did 4u, physics and chem got 70 Uai

If your finding 4u diificult and your crusing along in 2u maybe u should consider dropping which will give u extra time for your other subjects. Just wait till ur half yearly exam and make a decision from there. Remember that 4u requires dedication, hardwork and "MotivatioN".

Learn to do it by first principles - this pretty much just involves writing 3 amounts out and then showing that a part forms a g.p and then using the summation formula. You can always double check ur answer with the formula.
