FYI the maths syllabus is the same as previous years. The new syllabus doesn't kick in until Year 11 2019 (i.e. a year later than the other subjects).

There are plans underway to hold them this year in early October. Stay tuned for more details.

Scaling is all relative (i.e. based on where you rank in the cohort). It has nothing to do with the difficulty of a course.

Pretty much bang on there. The other hint I would give is notice that you only see every second binomial coefficient. The first step to derive such a series is to substitute a value for x and then substitute the negative of that value.
