    "THE MOLE" GRAND FINAL!!!

The live elims suck, I could live with tom as the host even though grant was way better, but as long as they get rid of the live elims, they added nothing to the show, and tom is terrible without the vibrancy of live location behind him.

Having a break before Teritary study

If you wanna work to save up or travel or something then yeah... if you are going to sit on your ass for a year, or work but spend it frivolously on crap, or only work about 15 hours a week...you may as well be at uni. Some people want a break, some people don't. I went straight to uni from...

Writing and Cultural Studies + Law/International Studies

We can't possibly give you any answers for that question unless you tell us what kind of career you are looking at getting out of it. If you want to be a writer, no matter what degree you have it will be tough to find jobs. Doesn't it have a list of the types of careers you can pursue in the...

    "THE MOLE" GRAND FINAL!!!

I'm sorry but he was a shit mole. Half of the "mole" things were clues in his profile... oh and wow, the sheep picking the number thing... he helped them win. How ridiculous. And the whole way they kept on coming back to the studio made the show lose it's pace and tension. The vibe when they...

    Taking days off work

I think at most places for casuals it is basically that you have to give them notice before they do the roster... at my work the rosters are done every 3-4 weeks, and if you need a day off you either have to try and swap/give away your shift or tell them about 3 weeks in advance.

    Student Politics at UTS

Omigod, that is too funny for words. As a humanities student, I accept that I have heard a lot of far far lefty idealistic crap... but that takes the cake.

Writing and Cultural Studies + Law/International Studies

UTS have a writers festival, and UTS Journalism students write the "Festival News" paper and website for the Sydney Writers Festival. I don't do writing so I can't really tell you much about it, but UTS is pretty well known for it's communications degrees, it's just that the faculty is a lot...

    Student Politics at UTS

There are far more pressing issues at hand than the printer scandals for the student association.... And god the whole "they aren't actually left, they are wet Libs" thing is so so sooooo annoying. We don't give a fuck about your factional infighting... stop arguing and get some policies...

    govt medical checks

yeah that is basically what happened at mine as well... I think they just want to check that you have the physical mobility etc to do the job and you aren't going to get a dodgy back within two months and then be out on workers comp. Don't worry about it... I was a bit freaked when I heard I...

    govt medical checks

I had to do a medical to get my job at bridgeclimb... not a govt one... but we had to do a urine test (ick freaked me out I didn't expect that lol), then they checked our heart/breathing/reflexes/height/weight and whether we could bend properly, reach our hands up above our heads etc (so...

Where do you Work? (Employment Advice Line)

I also now do freelance writing for FPC Courier newspapers (Sydney Central Courier, Wentworth Courier, Inner Western Courier etc)... it's commercial writing, so not really journalism. Also, this isn't really paid work, but I do stuff for community radio so if people are interested in that...

    Student Politics at UTS

I'm a lefty and I agree... what we have Left Action and left Focus. Do you know they were actually all on the same team up until recently when they had a bit of a tiff, so they are really just two factions with the same policies that had a bit of a personality clash. There isn't even any point...

'Talent and drive, but no money? Forget uni' (The Age)

Hey I just want to apologize about the misuse of the word "bludge", Ms 12, because I didn't think about the implication, it was a throwaway word... I understand people who are well off usually have to work pretty damn hard for that too, and I didn't mean to imply that wasn't the case. And I...

    Social Inquiry

Yeah UTS communications degrees are quite vocationally focused and don't have the broad range of subjects you can pick from in arts degrees at other unis. Also cos you combine with law you don't get many electives... there are some elective subjects that are apparently good, like political...

'Talent and drive, but no money? Forget uni' (The Age)

Sorry but this doesn't make much sense. First of all, the comparison with South America... South America is a continent for starters, is what you are saying true across all countries of South America, I'm just curious. Also, most parts of South America are not very developed countries...
