    exchange English ext 1 paper?

I managed to find the Ext 1 English trial from SBHS for this year, if you haven't done it already.

How hard is extension 1 maths if it's self taught?

I believe you need Advanced knowledge to do Ext 1, as Ext 1 covers the Advanced topics plus goes into more detail into it (for e.g with integration, Extension 1 introduces integration by substitution, which isn't covered in the Advanced syllabus). But it definitely is possible.

    10 units or 12 units?

Pros of doing 12 units Have backup in case one subject doesn't work (keep in mind though that English has to count a MINIMUM of 2 units) If you decide to drop one subject (because you don't enjoy it or the results aren't working), you have the liberty to Cons of doing 12 units An extra...

    Chemistry help

I believe that with the first one, the single bond connecting the methyl group to the chain is directly pointing on the Carbon atom, which it should be as carbon forms 4 bonds. However, with the second one, it's kind of pointing in the middle of the C and H. If you are going to use condensed...

    ATAR Estimate

It's hard to tell for sure (would be good if you had your marks as well), but I'd guess around a low 90s, given you look set for a Band 6 in Maths Standard and Biology (on the cuff). Business and PDHPE aren't too far from Band 6, so hopefully getting these ranks up a bit for externals can boost...

    Atar predictions

Oh yh, my bad. I've completely forgotten how fast this year has gone by. It only seems like yesterday that I had my HSC last year.

I guess you can also look at it like as if it were algebra. For example, you would typically tend to write 2x^2 instead of x^2 * 2

    Atar predictions

Not trying to sound too harsh, but looking at your ranks, it seems that Modern is the only subject which you are on track for a Band 6 (possibly History and Maths Adv, if you can bump up your ranks). Hopefully, you can get a low 90s, given an excellent externals performance. But at the same...

    Chemistry help

As @Life'sHard mentioned, convention is to write it as CH3. However saying that, I don't think you would be penalised for writing H3C. DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THOUGH; you should always clarify with your teachers how they will be marking, as you should never assume anything you aren't 100%...

    96+ ???

It may be fairly obvious, but your ranks are quite impressive for Band 6 territory. One thing which stands out though is your maths rank, so trying to put extra work on this can still get you a Band 6 (as you still have 50% of your HSC left)

    96+ ???

Also would help to know how many people on average get Band 6s for your subjects over the last few years

How are you actually meant to study for English

There's a few things you can do from now till the HSC to maximise your externals performance. Make sure you have a thorough understanding of your text (themes, characters and their development, plot development, etc) Do plenty of practice questions under strict timed conditions (normally...

    Chemistry students

I graduated last year, so will probably be quite oblivious to the extra circumstances that your year has had to endure. But having got a final HSC mark of 94 in Chemistry, I'd say I can give you some advice on how to go with study after trials (if you even had them). If you did have trials...

    i can’t study

It's also definitely really good just to reach out to other people (best would be friends in your year), just to motivate each other past the final hurdle of the HSC. Try thinking it of the last 100m sprint of a marathon, and that for all the long hours and dedication you've put into the entire...

Is school attendance for Year 12 compulsory?

The most important consideration for you right now should be your HSC exams, which start in less than a month. And so, there's some pros and cons of going to school during this time. Pros Get to gain final tips and content from teachers which haven't been formally taught yet Get to meet...

    Getting into medicine without UCAT

Honestly, being passionate about studying medicine is one which some students will inherently possess even before becoming a medical student. However, for other people, they may not find it passionate until much later on down the track. In medical school in university, you typically tend to...

    technique

There's a very similar one, "sweet sorrow" by Shakespeare, which is an oxymoron (as it draws together 2 opposing words to create a dramatic effect). It's further explained in the link below. https://hsccoworks.com.au/hscenglishlanguagetechniques/
