    Tutoring and university

At unsw there's (free) peer tutoring programs for 1st yr. Not sure about other unis. Most unis have consultation time with lecturers and you can email and stuff like that, so there's really no reason to get paid tutors at uni.

Mobile phone went off during final exam

Like what others said, why only complain after you got the mark? You didn't have to fill in special consideration if you were afraid of supplementary, just complain to the convener or whoever in charge without filing in special consideration. Alternatively, you could have done a...

Why does scaling work the way it does?

Difficulty is the reason, but how difficult a subject is regarded is not the private opinion of uac or bos. For example, from data it is shown that students who do both Economics and Biology tends to do better in biology than in eco, uac would conclude from there that biolgy is easier then eco.

    Good "Introduction to Law"-style books?

Understanding Tort Law by Carol Harlow, a very small book and easy to read. Probably the just slightly thicker than the typical "Cliff's Note" or the "..For Dummy" series.

    Studying from summaries only.

Depends what subject you are talking about. For things like biology or senior science you probably can (practicals and research asides)...althought it depends what you mean by high mark,80s yes, 90s no. For subjects like eco or math I wouldn't recommend it.

Foundation of law: Susan Armstrong 10/10 Super awesome, goes through content slowly and thoroughly. QMA: Louis Yeung 6/10 Not appalling, maybe it's just me hating that course, but meh... Microeconomics: Thomas Longdon 7/10 Pretty well, not spectacular. Accounting 1A: rotating...

    Law and HSC subjects

^Not necessarily, after my first law assessment the lectuerer was complaining about how everyone was writing so flamboyantly, and told us to forget everything we learnt in HSC English because ít's not compatible with legal writing. But true that knowing some English is necessary since there is a...
