    parking at uts?

Getting your own car is heaps more expensive than PT! Think of the insurance, petrol, etc, it would add up to heaps more. Petrol alone would probably be more expensive than public transport!!!

4 yr old dies in disney world

Yeah the height restrictions can sometimes be really stupid.... like once we were in Queensland and my sister was about 7 at the time (but she is a bit short for her age) so she couldn't get on a few of the rides.... however once we saw this huge baby (they were wearing a diaper) get on a ride...

    work stories

I heard of a similar story on the news a few years ago except the guy died I think after falling in to a large commercial deep fryer.... terrible. Actually I think it was at KFC as well. I think he had climbed up to reach something on a ladder or something and then fell on to the fryers...

    any point to this?!?

Why not? English speaking people travel to other english speaking countries all the time and still get something out of it. If you wanna go, then do it I say! It depends on what you want to get out of the travel... if you just want new experiences, meet new people etc then you can still...

Scurvy the new scourge of uni life

Canberra has a bit more going for it though than some places, with the government offices and departments, I've heard that the job market there is a bit better than say in Albury or Bathurst, but I'm not saying it is easy there either. But you couldn't say ADFA and RMC contribute to the...

Scurvy the new scourge of uni life

I'm a raving lefty, but even I think the scurvy thing is a little zany.... I mean, buy an orange every now and then. You could probably even get your local grocer to give you a couple of oranges for free if you put on a good enough sob story! It's probably more an ignorance thing, people just...

Does GPA start fresh in a new course?

Yeah it was pass/fail in first year with no marks on our transcripts, then graded for the rest. It doesn't really matter for me, but I was just curious.

    trade

THe refridgeration part is important too.... restaurants and food stores need to have their fridges working properly to conduct business.

Scurvy the new scourge of uni life

If you want proof about the lack of jobs in Albury Wodonga, you should look in the Border Mail every day and see what is advertised.... there is like, nothing. Mostly only full time positions that require previous experience most uni students wouldn't have. You only find a job in Albury...

Oh yeah I have also heard that air conditioning is a good one to get in to, you can earn heaps especially if you work in a place where there isn't much competition.

Scurvy the new scourge of uni life

May I just ask, have I ever personally attacked you in this thread? I think the answer is no. You keep on using me as an example, when I am simply talking about how I believe that student poverty is a real problem, not for me personally, but for other people. Read what I am saying instead...

    Live 8 "sick profiteering"

If people are willing to pay, then does it matter really? I mean, it doesn't matter who is sitting in the seats at that concert, either way the concert doesn't make any money out of the tickets anyway. If the person who won the free tickets can't benefit from going to see the concert, then...

Scurvy the new scourge of uni life

It costs 30 for the card? That sucks! The train really sucks. One day in the middle of summer I was on it going to Sydney and the air con broke, and it was a 40 degree day.... even hotter in the carriages because the windows don't open... plus because of the heat they were worried that the...

    trade

One guy that I know at home is doing an apprenticeship in making stainless steel benches etc for kitchens (commercial kitchens) etc. Apparently it is really good because the pay is quite decent (especially in regional areas) and it is a really clean trade- you don't get too dirty or too smelly...

    Defining moments of uni

For some reason I find the discussion of rubber gloves decidedly creepy. I don't know why. Lucky I study arts.

Does GPA start fresh in a new course?

Another question about GPA. If the first year of your course was pass/fail, that won't affect your GPA will it? It will only be considered on the courses that were actually graded right?

lol my flatmate just opens up a can on tuna when he is hungry, drains out the water and grabs his fork lol.... it is so funny, sometimes it looks like he is eating a tin of cat food or something. Toast is another great thing, especially if you freeze your bread because then you don't waste...

I live in UTS Housing. College in Sydney is much more expensive, you pay for the prestige and social structure as well as the roof above your head. You won't find anything much cheaper close to UTS City campus. $40 is because I can't have a phone connection in my room to get dialup so I have...
