    Good practical experience though :)

    The 'left' = dirty?

Personally I would hope to see some more statistics brought up with each point raised and the source quoted/linked. There have been a lot of claims about women working less hours, earning less, etc. As far as I can see, only Sarah has bothered to back up some of the factual groundings of her...

    Trivial/Light News Items

We intend to make a subforum to contain all the light/frivolous news items, as this thread is going to be too messy. We do not want to remove such news items altogether - but we want to move them to one side of the forum because it is very irritating for most people to come here looking for some...

    The 'left' = dirty?

That's true, but could a women not make a company competitive against other companies through the quality of her work, rather than competing within a company?

Politics goes to church at Hillsong

It's interesting to see more of this actually unfolding -- a month or so ago, Compass did a special on Rudd wanting to welcome religion under Labor's wing. I wasn't sure where he planned to take it but it could prove interesting. Until now the Liberals have had quite a monopoly on being thought...

    The 'left' = dirty?

I think Xayma posted some research into a lesser competitiveness in women, but is competitiveness the only factor involved in workplace equality? Presumably they still have just as much merit and desire to take higher jobs, despite not wanting to act in a manner that is as competitive as men.

Give it a shot, it's a great motivator and there's no harm in getting good marks in the process :)

    Trivial/Light News Items

We may have to make a subforum for these light/trivial threads, as I have just discovered that you cannot move them into this one without completely messing up the timing :(

    Trivial/Light News Items

[stickied] Thanks Generator - I think this should help reduce the level of spam. Posts about penis-severing and cannibalism now have a new home :) As for people ignoring it, with time people will hopefully learn. In the meantime we can at least move any trivial/trashy news into here...

    law transfer

It changes every year, and according to USYD's law school it is quite unpredicatable. However as Minai said, he got almost 96 for his NRSL cut-off but missed it. So I would imagine that at least 96 is required for UNSW alone, and USYD would probably be slightly higher, say 97 or so. You can...

Great firewall of China: Gates helps Beijing to delete freedom from net

Currently your GPA is 5.5. If you continued that next semester, and had a final GPA of 5.5, your selection rank would be 93. Thus your NRSL rank (96.7 + 93 / 2) = 94.85. For USYD, the NRSL cut-off is usually at least 96. You would be hard pressed making the transfer unless you manage to pull...

Job Opening for UTS Law Students.

Because it is a conservative bench. The constituents change over time and hold different perspectives when it comes to legal reasoning. If Kirby were in the High Court in 80's, his dissent rate would probably be far lower.

Great firewall of China: Gates helps Beijing to delete freedom from net

I have noticed channel 9 being particularly narky occasionally with the Labor party. During the last election more than once a newsreader made some snide remarks about Latham. Newsreaders mind you, not political reporters, or opinion writers. It would be a generalisation to say it's their...

Be sure to run for the hills in 2008

I believe Tony Abbott runs a beginner's course down at Manly called "When you're rock solid: How to pull out without getting a mess on yourself".

Great firewall of China: Gates helps Beijing to delete freedom from net

What Generator is saying is quite true. Despite media-baron skepticism, it is not realistic to believe that they have that kind of huge influence over the content of their newspapers and television news networks. Though there has been somewhat of a history of playing favourites, the press barons...
